In celebration of saving all my computer gear from the flood of July 9th, 2015.
After an hour of battle, during the fourth wave, I was defeated. Several inches below the cable, that pipes all this to the world, the water poured in. I rushed inside and reached the computers before the advancing water. A quick emergency power-down and disconnection of all wires from all machines was successful. Soaking wet, I rushed the machines out at arms length to safety.
Hours later.... the clean up began. :(
All the carpet is gone and it's almost clean now. Jeeeeeez.

Dude...flooding sucks. A couple weeks ago my basement flooded, DESTROYED the carpet...thing was coming apart in chunks. Luckily I live in an area with a basement (or pending on your area of the country / world: cellar or vault or underground crypt). And thanks for the giveaway!

I love extreme weather. Can't b-tch that it happened to me. I agree, flooding does suck. Had I lost my gear due to extreme weather I might change my opinion. Hope I never find out.

Well...at least the weathermen know what the weather will be...last week the dude said it's sunny all over the area...he said some more stuff after that but I couldn't hear anything else he said...over the thunder...and the lightning...and the rain... :D

I still ache all over. I'll be super buff in a few days. lol Right before my defeat I was bailing out 5 gallons a time 4 times a minute for 10 minutes (200 gallons!). lol Water is freak'n heavy! I couldn't go on and saved the last of my strength for the rescue. :)

Floods are the worst. I can't ever live near water. I'd rather deal with tornadoes than a a borked first floor because it rained a bit hard.
