Streets of Rage is one of my favorite beat 'em up series of all time.

In 2012, a utility created by gsaurus allowed us to easily customize characters. This tool was so amazing, it can generate sprites while automatically mapping the tiles for you. And thus, it revolutionized the Streets of Rage ROM Hacking scene, as former first in command Eidolon predicted. Later in 2012, more utilities such as Mega Drive Voice editor lets us replace the voice samples in the games. gsaurus and Red Crimson also created a ROM Hack called Streets of Rage 2: Syndicate Wars (not to be confused with a Strategy game for Playstation/PC), which added a Survival mode and lets you play as enemies in addition to the heroes. Most of my SOR2 ROM Hacks were based on SOR2:SW.

I used to create a lot of ROM Hacks of Streets of Rage 2 and 3 throughout the years, such as Puyo Wars, Girls' Paradise, Simpsons Edition, Mortal Kombat CX and Sailor Moon. But then I got bored of trying to reverse bugs caused by customizing the characters.
