Some people may dislike this game because it wasn't in the same style as the previous Devil May Cry, with the witty comments from Dante and such. But this is among my favorite games! Smooth gameplay mechanics, awesome story, and neat graphics! Definitely a cool game! :-)
I feel while it had nice potential it was sort of wasted by how the other weapons were handled (all angel weapons were AoE and all devil weapons were more one on one or narrow), but yeah it's not as bad as some people make it out to be, but it's not quite on the level of the original series.
I think these combat mechanics were pretty cool. The fact that every weapon have its own traits, and thus its own use in combat, were pretty cool. And that you can seamlessly change between each weapon, creating cool combos (getting lots of score), while also effectively fighting the enemies, is one of the things I was very satisfied with in the game. The enemies were also created in such a way that you had to vary your use of weapons. I think that it took a while longer to get bored of the same repeating hack'n'slash, thanks to the variations of weapons and enemies.
I've played through the game on all difficulties, and enjoyed it all the way! :-)
I also liked the story a lot, even though it's set in a different timeline from the other games in the series.
I've never seen this before lol. Looking back, it really doesn't look good at all.
I've always been a fan of Xbox and PC. But lately bought a PS4 just because of titles like Horizon: Zero Dawn, God of War, and Detroit: Become Human. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
