[still apologizing for bad English]
Accidentaly I realized that today is my cakeday, so lets do a wave of (bundle leftovers) giveaways!
Obligatory [rainbowlist] question:
What is the best book you have read recently? I mean really, really great book, with well-written plot, interesting characters and something intense which you couldn't even name.
Warm-up:
I'm in the middle of "Mr Mercedes" by Stephen King and it's trully gripping crime story, but anything I've read in last half of a year just can't beat "Boy's Life" by Robert McCammon. Seriously, every page of it was like huge cup of homemade hot chocolate.

Recently? Well, haven't really read anything since 2013 because of college and depression, mostly.
But in general, I really liked the His Dark Materials series. Though the end was not that great. I mean it was ok...
It's also worth mentioning The Wardstone Chronicles series (But the movie that they made based on it sucks, don't watch it).
Oh, and happy cakeday.

Would recommend Ender's Game, if You haven't read it. It's a really good book! Didn't like the movie. >.< That's when my friends recommended the book instead, and it definitely worth it to give it a chance. :)

Thank you. I am finally reading through The Witcher saga from Andrzej Sapkowski before i play the games. Now i am at the second to last book and love it so far.. Although i fear that english translation is not finished yet..

Just finished the whole saga a few weeks ago and playing Witcher 3 after those is awesome, the game is sooo full of hidden books references! And I'm pretty sure there are some amateur translations of last 1-2 volumes ^^

I haven't been reading much lately. The last book I finished was Raising Steam by Terry Pratchett. I strongly recommend it, but it's a good one to save for when you've read all his other books.

Thanks for the giveaway by the way !

Robert Lynn Asprin -- Hit or Myth.
But frankly speaking, any book from his MythAdventures series is wonderful. (fantasy + great amount of kind humor)
I can also offer you to read "Another Fine Myth".

Meh, I haven't read a whole lot lately. I guess it would have to be Kiss The Dead by Laurell K Hamilton.
It's like... book 20 of a series which had gone downhill a long time ago (way too much sex, not nearly enough monster killing), but I'd almost say this was a return to form, complete with zombie attack.
Thank you very much, 93sign, and happy cake day!

The best book I've recently read is non-fiction: "If The Universe Is Teeming With Life...Where Is Everybody?"
It goes into all the possibilities of the above question, known formally as The Fermi Paradox (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fermi_paradox).

Now that sounds interesting!

I've been kept busy lately, so I haven't really read any (or many) books lately, unless you count manga or visual novels. The last one I've picked up and put down every now and then is Umineko no Naku Koro ni: Rondo of the Witch and Reasoning.
As for something in print, that would be ICO: Castle in the Mist, the novel of a PS2 game called ICO. I really need to take some time to finish that one as well.
