I first started watching them as a kid when they would occasionally show up on TV (and there are a couple channels that still showcase them). Now mostly I watch the ones you can see on Netflix/Amazon/Youtube and DVDs I've collected over a few years (There's not a lot of them on Netflix, but Youtube has a ton). There are quite a few websites dedicated to silent-age film, and IMDB is a good resource for finding the best ones.
One site I really love that's tangentially related is Dr Macro's Movie Scans. It has the an astonishing collection of really amazing photo and poster scans.
