Description

Freie Universität Berlin

You can walk north to the Dahlem-Dorf Station or west and then south to the Thielplatz.

This was my main university while I was in Berlin. Conveniently enough, it was right off the U3 line, which went straight to my home station, Nollendorfplatz. I met a lot of my international friends there while I was studying Linguistics and German. While I was there, they were doing most of the construction on what is finished now on the north end of campus. That's why I chose The Dig. There was a gaping hole in the ground where the new buildings now stand. The Mensa was interesting at first, but got boring after awhile, eating the same things over and over again. Interesting fact, they don't allow you to take pictures in the Mensa. Sure we got away with it a few times, but they got upset if they saw you doing it. Probably thought you were going to say how garbage their food was or something. It wasn't, but who knows the reason.

There were a total of 4 coffeeshops that I knew of that existed on campus. They all had different prices, different offerings, different everything. That was strange for me.

Probably one of the coolest looking things there though, was the Philosophy Library. It's in the shape of an oval... or really, a brain. Yes, really. It looks very cool. I spent a bit of time there studying and unlike some libraries back home, no one had to be told to be quiet. They just automatically were. On the note of it's shape, it actually has a nickname. Care to take a guess? It's not that hard. The Brain

That was hard wasn't it? Here I even got a job working for a professor there helping with their research. This seemed to be a trend with me, wherever I studied at University, I found jobs working for professors. In any case, take a look around, it was an interesting place to study, but not very pretty. It was built by Americans originally, not Germans... and that explains that.

Now, this is a game worth going after! I had it on CD-ROM about a zillion years ago, and, even though I have it wishlisted, I'm not gonna enter. This game must go to someone who hasn't experienced it.

I also own this game on CD and love it. It's an awesome game if you like science fiction adventure games. It has an original and immersive story. I agree with MeneGR it would be cool if it went to someone new who will play it (but it's unlikely). I also did not enter the GA.

Well glad you got to play it period :D
Hopefully, someone will play it, but I don't really worry about that too much. I just give away games and try to have fun events :D

Indeed, you weren't allowed to take pictures. I still managed to get some personal ones myself :)

It's not my nickname! It's the nickname the Germans gave it!
Germans built it, and Germans nicknamed it!
What does that have to do with my brain ;)

though the university was built by americans, but the brain by germans?

Indeed. We built it a long time ago... Then you Germans made the library recently.
