Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is a controversial game indeed, it had a lot of development issues due to the internal affairs at the time and as such did suffer from the abuse. DESPITE THIS: the game is an exceptional open world experience from the more linear takes on the series. I personally have played MGS 2, MGS 3, Peacewalker, and GZ/TPP and can say that The Phantom Pain isn't exactly a follow up from 3 mechanically, but more from Peacewalker which would make sense as it's canonically after it.
I had a 385hr save file disappear on me... I had over 1mil Heroism, every offline item developed, and was around 86% complete total... I feel the Phantom Pain and I regret nothing.

I feel your pain, I had Xenoblade Chronicles after the third last boss fight with a 100 hour save file self erase itself and the second extra file I had with 30ish hours so I took a 6 month break and then I put another 150 in a third file before my controller broke ;-; I really don't feel like spending 40+ bucks for another one cause then I could just buy Xenoblade chronicles 3d at that point

I just acquired an Xbox Elite controller due to getting in to some higher-level gamepad game gameplay (gamepad game gameplay is probably the dumbest alliteration I've made on accident) and man was it kind of worth the $150... @_@
It's so not worth it for basic shiz but trying to get to the top of some of these leaderboards is rough without consistent tools.

I guess that's fair, but I'd literally only play one game with a classic controller for the wii and I would rather just get the 3ds version if I wanted it. On the other hand, 150? I'd figure it'd be less, specially if it's USD, jeez.. Really getting far with those controller prices

Microsoft pulled together their R&D team, combined them with some high level players, and designed a "top of the line" controller. That being said, it's "not" worth the money if the rumors of the new revision are true as that will fix the one or two issues with the current model. Apparently the bumper buttons are slightly finicky and have been reported as failing (literally snapping off) as early as 3 months out of the box... which is ridiculous for the price but covered under warranty. I'm way into it being modular and having some nice accessories with it, but I somewhat regret the purchase even knowing that I use it daily.
It is by far superior to both the Afterglow 360 and Xbone pads, despite me advocating them for their designs and cost efficiency.
