Daedalic = quality

Not necessarily. All of Wadjet Eye games are by far better in every single thing that matters, including story, characters and narration. Soundtrack too. Sure they are retro in terms of graphics, but true adventure fans will always prefer scenario and plot over anything else in the genre. I admit some of the Daedalic games are good, but more than half of them are plain mediocre.

I never said that Wadjet Eye games aren't better, not sure what this has to do with the fact that Daedalic makes good games... the only sub-par point-and-click adventure by Daedalic that I've played was A New Beginning. The Deponia series, both Edna & Harvey games, The Whispered World, The Night of the Rabbit and even Blackguards (which I understand isn't the most loved game out there) are all gems in my opinion.

Fair enough. Well to each his own of course. Personally though, I found the Deponia Series, whispered world and chains of satinav all to be very very mediocre in almost all levels (The only thing I can't complain about of course is only the animation/artwork graphics department). Maybe it's the translation, maybe not. Playable, yes, but just that, playable. Forgettable characters, meh narration, almost no atmosphere or story to grip you to play them till the end. Humorous in some ways but not enough to make you care enough. Around half way all of these games became very boring.
Thankfully their other games are better. Maybe I'm alone on this but I do miss the good old lucasarts days, and have only found almost that quality in wadjet tbh. Thus, I can never call daedalic games good enough, maybe I'm just too hard to please after all these years. At least some other indie companies that have released very few titles, are doing better and are giving us some gems, these last years.

I thought Edna (from Edna & Harvey) was probably their best character, but yeah, storytelling-wise even Deponia is leeeagues away from some Wadjet Eye stuff like Gemini Rue and The Shivah. But we agree about the nostalgic feelings toward LucasArts (and Sierra too) - good times! One of the best adventures I've played lately was STASIS, a little unpolished, but amazing horror sci-fi atmosphere, kinda reminds me of Sanitarium (which is another great gem from the past).

A nice, I also have stasis in my wishlist. :) And yeah I loved gemini rue, resonance and the atmosphere of primordia. Still didn't find time to play the shivah. And yes sierra and lucasarts were amazing back then. Edna is indeed the most unique one that stands out as a game and character. xD
