From the days when free games sometimes came in cereal boxes.

Loved those days. I had Crazy Taxi too. I miss both those games (Ford Racing and Crazy Taxi) :(

Chad, who won the competition we had in shop class in 8th grade did something unusual. For one, his dad was a RC plane enthusiast, and had a huge shop downstairs at his house. So his car was made of balsa wood; ultralight. In fact, it was so ultralight that when he raced it for the first time, it hit the cushioned wall at the end of the track and the body of the car (which was about as thick as a wooden spoon handle) snapped and the car broke in two. Not finding anything in the tournament rules about a car having to have four wheels, he raced the back half for the rest of the heats. The cars were tethered to a fishing line, using an eye-hook, because we didn't have a track with lanes, just the shop floor. So the two wheel car stayed upright and was prevented from tumbling forward due to the tether. So, Chad was racing a "car" that weighed next to nothing except for the weight of the CO2 cartridge. It was like a bullet. Nobody else could come close to beating it. A few kids tried breaking their cars in half as well, but they all had bigger bodies and were made out of heavier wood. Fun memory. I haven't thought of it in nearly forty years.

Hehe, that sounds great. :-) The most fun we had in shop class was when we were making a wooden box. :'-(
