i was checking trailers and dev explaining controls (which seems the reason for many bad reviews, a pity but i usually don't care)... thou, it seems hella difficult... have you (or you!) ever tried it, Timo?

I tried the demo. I didn't find the controls confusing (I played with a controller), hardest part was just remembering what button did what, and it's a very stylish game with a lot of room for stylish gameplay - for example, where I'd be likely to just run over enemies, a better player may roll up, do a 360 spin to knock them back, then charge up an attack and lunge at them. The hardest part of what I played in the demo was that there are areas where you can fall to your death, and forgetting to hit the wall climb button (or accidentally letting go of it mid-wall) will cause you to fall to your death. But I can see it becoming more challenging later on, with more obstacles to navigate, more complicated platforming, and tougher fights.
Give the demo on Steam a try. It's pretty short, but should give you a decent feel for the game.

what you're saying sounds good, kinda hard (remembering all button combinations) but still something i want to, at least, try. missed that demo button, tho :D and is a very good tip also cause i have all the time for trying it out (bookmarked this one).
won't to spam you further, so, about Blasphemous: please forget what i've said cause it was mostly a try to check the artstyle and how theme was applied. made a few jumps here and there, nothing more. still, you should join the giveaway, in my opinion (and not because there's no more demo but you seems to me to be one to be a perfect match, if ga creator needs a "good winner")

It's not so much that there are many button combinations, it's more that the game introduces the different actions one after the other and some are only used occasionally, so by the time I got to the second wall climbing section I had trouble remembering which button was the wall climb button. But if you actually play the game, or (gasp) consult the manual, you'll remember all the buttons and it'll be fine. :)
And thank you for the kind words. I'll enter for the giveaway and hope for the best. :)

those words are totally deserved, man.
(i was thinking about peeps reading all this and being like: "all that stuff before entering a gib?? click that button and shut up!")

Haha!
I really try to be sure that I'm going to like a game before entering for it. As someone who tries to play all my wins, my big fear is winning a game and discovering that I don't like it. I've had discussions like this one that have talked me into or out of entering when I was on the fence. :)

don't know why, missed this one.
and so, tried and not entering (see below).
about what you've said: was thinking about it riding that weird Fnord train. while i agree to all of that (i also try to play my wins and the fear...), i've also learnt that, if it happens, (you enter, win and don't like it) is not a big thing. you may lose a whitelist slot, win a black one but if it happens you also lose a "friend", well, that one wasn't a... friend.
like, one should also enjoy the huge freedom gaming world offers, no need to be a leecher but also no need to be perfect: a pinch of honesty and you're good.
>he smoothly clicks on Enter

I've tried playing it and had fun most of the time, though I gave up near the end since some of the controlls are a kind of hit or miss thing. So they work sometimes but not always, which gets annoying if you need them to work several times in a row. This led me to give up on the game in the end since I got stuck.

just tried the demo, few hours ago (also: just woke up) and i've really enjoyed the little i've tried, great art and atmosphere. but kept my controller like it was the most precious thing in my life, very tensely, and if played more than an hour, surely gotta buy a new one, smashing buttons like no tomorrow.
even if i'm on ENTERALLTHETHINGS status, won't enter this one: Timo will have a small increase of good odds at finding a good winner (no sarcasm).
also: never won something in any community train, never! :P

Then I'm crossing my fingers for you :D
The general controlls are okay. The controlls for the special skills are the ones I had most problems with. And only with some of the chars shrug
And I'm at work since 5.30am (give or take 2 1/2 h ago) so I feel you.

really hoping your weekend will be worth the wait!

Here's my review. I was definitely one of those people who really couldn't bear the controls.
