If you've never seen it, I recommend Stardust if you like fantasy.
If that's not your cup of tea, I suggest Galaxy Quest for a sci-fi comedy.

If neither and you want something darker, The Platform.

It's horror but I suggest Twixt, the 2011 Francis Ford Coppola film. People say it's bad but I think it's worth a watch.

How about the 1989 Japanese horror film 'Sweet Home'? It was made alongside a famicom game of the same name and would become the inspiration for Capcom's Resident Evil. You can watch it free on YouTube, because of a lack of copyright and rerelease. Cheers.
