i'm sorry if it wasn't clear. as long as the winner communicates by posting status, i will not do this. i have had it happen to me over a week, and it stops from creating more giveaway. I think it's fair to ask someone to give some kind of response in 1 day.
I'm saying this based on my personal experience. Sometimes I don't even turn on my gaming PC for 2-3 days due to lack of time. So 24 hours is way too little in my opinion. Even the FAQ mentions 7 days to receive a gift, after which you can ask for a re-roll.
You are of course free to do as you please, just as I am free to think this is a shitty rule.
I think OP's rule is fair. Communicating is important, regardless of whether you're the winner or the GA creator. I'm sure that they only have good intentions with such a rule.
Thank you for the support, friend. My sad story is that being new, there was a GA limit, and my next planned GA overnight turned into ungiftable due to a free giveaway. Had the recipients received their keys in a timely manner, I would have been able to post it, but it was not to be. I have always given immediate feedback out of respect to other GA owners.
24 hours is not instant. All I ask is for a comment or communication. But I am hearing the feedback loud and clear. I will consider something else for the future, but I really need this GA to be completed ASAP. I apologize for the trouble.
What i think you all fail to realize, that there are such people, that simply do not have the time to be here so often due to work/family. Not everyone lives such a comfortable life taht they can check steamgifts at least once per 24 hours. But you may do as you please, though i think its kind of a real shitty thing to do to someone, especially if you do that to that kind of person. But thats just like my oppinion.
yes. it is a steam gift so what happens is there will be an email sent with a link to redeem on steam. i also try to contact the winners by writing on an old giveaway (that's why I made this lv1+) Make sure your email is current and correct on steamgift since that's all I have to use.

Instant feedback is nice, but a blacklist threat, if not marked as recieved within 24 hours, is not! :(
People have a Real Life next to Steamgifts and sometimes things happen, drawing attention elsewhere...
