I'm okay with that. Thanks for asking. :)

I think Mugmoment was just trying to let you know that people who already own this can still mistakenly enter, so it might be best to check the winner's account before sending the key/gift. (If he/she already does own the Definitive Edition, you can request a re-roll from the moderators.) 🙂

I'll do that. I appreciate the heads-up. 😎

Wow! Thanks so much! That's incredible and just so nice of you. I was kind of sad that I didn't see the space cat, and then I was like, "what's up with all the new messages?" Best 3 messages I've had in a while. :)
I really do appreciate it. I owe you one. 🥰

Aw man, you don't owe a thing! With all the good you do for others here at SG, to know there was something you'd like that I could do... it was a no-brainer! Keep that fireball glowing! :)

Well, at the very least I will keep you in mind when creating my next whitelist giveaway. :)
Again, I really do appreciate what you did. This place can put a bad taste in your mouth sometimes, and then someone like you will do something that's fantastic, and that bad taste just vanishes.
Take care, and I'll see you around!

I hear you. It takes a lot of effort to create these giveaways. Then there are scumbags who try to rip you off and often when there is an issue, the mods/rules treat the giver as the bad guy who must prove his innocence. There have been times I have been tempted to throw in the towel and just toss my remaining keys into a free giveaway thread.

One of my first giveaways was won by an autojoiner, and after waiting 3+ weeks for them to look at the key, I finally reported it. It was clear as day that this person was only showing up once a month to claim who knows how many games, and to my surprise the mod(s) actually suspended this person permanently. A few months later, out of boredom and curiosity I decided to look at this persons account, and of course they'd let him(?) back on the site.
It really is incredible that they make the contributor jump through so many hoops sometimes. I'm glad that they don't ban people left and right because that shit can get out of control fast, but when it's super obvious that a user is cheating the system and they just allow it to continue? Drives me crazy. The only logical conclusion is that site traffic & ad revenue is considered more important than contributors. It's definitely a real shame. :(
I absolutely understand now why people branch off into their own little steamgifts groups!
Having said all that, I try to remember that no one is forcing me to do anything, and that if my level 1+ giveaway results in not getting thanked by the winner, or me having to wait a week or more for it to get marked as received, then ultimately that's on me. Having said THAT, it would definitely be nice if the site owner and his mods could steer things more in the contributors favor, just for the sake of the quality & longevity of the site.
IDK. I hope we both can continue to stay strong. I truly would hate for either one of us to throw in the towel.
PS - Apologies for the length of my rant. I guess this stuff has been building up in my mind for a while now, and this seemed like a good opportunity to let it spill out. :)

No apologies necessary. I concur 100% with all that. Seeing a permanent ban lifted on a clear bot system would really fry me. Instead of letting that account re-activate, site management with true integrity and wishing to protect the gifters and level the field for the recipients would track ips etc. from that account and try to eliminate more of that person's account.
At some point, I changed my giveaways to level 4 to cut down on a lot of the autojoiners even though it pained me to have to leave deserving folks who can't afford to buy games out. I just couldn't deal with all the frustration. Even at level 4 there is still some of that, but it has drastically reduced the frustration level for me.

Making all your giveaways 4+ is smart, and I would be smart to follow suite. It really does cut down a lot of potential nonsense. It's funny, now that I'm thinking about it, I want to say that the 2nd worst autojoiner I've had was a level 8 user! That stung less because I was like, oh well, at least it's someone that's contributed to the site. Then I realized that some small amount of stockholm syndrome had set in. This place can definitely do funny things to your brain over time. :)

Thank you very much. It's appreciated!
In the past, I did something similar to what you're doing, and I know it's time consuming and a bit of a headache, so thank you for your hard work too.
See you around. Have a happy holiday season. :)

never ever doing this again
having users receive a game, change the name in the comments, claiming they got the wrong game
other users edit their wish trying to usurp games from people who posted after them....
and for the rest, i forgot i cant sent private message on steamgifts..., they have never ever commented or posted anything so there is nothing to reply to...., this is a nightmare... . already 10hr and 75% of the games are shared...

Damn...I don't know what to say other than I'm sorry for your troubles, especially when all you're doing is being thoughtful and generous. People can be terrible. Please know that there are some of us that appreciate you and what you've done.

thanks, noticed that in the polite users giving a thank you....

You could always give some away here:

I will say that it's also a pain in the ass. I haven't had anyone be dishonest with me though, so at least there's that. It's harder for them to be sneaky, since they're the ones listing the games they want.
You're not in the mood to make giveaways?
