Cake fighting is getting out of hand. It has until now been such a traditional sport - White vs Chocolate, the true test of what is right and what is wrong. But all the new cakes they let in have diluted the meaning, any flavor can join now. Minor variants such as Yellow, German, and Funfetti blur the lines but others, even further outside the traditional, are even more confounding, to the point of ridiculousness - Honey, Carrot, Lemon Chiffon, even Red Velvet!
Mark my words, we will rue the day we let the masses of poorly defined recipes into the elite competitions with those tried and true.
