Description

This is a great strategy game like no other. Playing as any nation at any time with historically correct background? Uber-realistic and complicated politics? Seriously, you have not played a strategy game until you've experienced EU IV. And I'm giving you a chance to fix that in my very first giveaway.

I will send a steam key to the winner. And yes, I do know how does this site work ;-)

Also sorry for the level restriction [I'm not even lvl 1 myself! ;( ], but there are so many people here not activating gifts then won that I have to filter out the newcomers.

I don't mind traditional "thankyou"s, but if you want to be cool, write something original. Making me smile with a joke or a gif is very welcome!

I never know any jokes and I abhor .gifs, but looking at the game here, perhaps a random historical factoid might be interesting?

Spookily hovers hands over magical top hat before grabbing a sparkling (fairy dust is real!) piece of paper out of it

Did you know that there never was an 'Inca Empire'? Instead, their country was simply called (The) Four Provinces; Tawantinsuyu. 'Tawa' means 'four', '-ntin' indicates it's a group (so a group of four), and a 'suyo' is a 'province' or 'region'. Obviously, they had four regions. The Sapa Inka was the ruler, hence why the Spanish, upon meeting them, named the country 'Imperio Inka' (Inca empire). 'Sapa', by the way, means 'only'. The position of Sapa Inka was hereditary (although there were two equal dynasties*), and also divine, being the personification of their sun god Inti.

*Hanan and Hurin, respectively meaning 'high' and 'low'. And while the Hanin had a bit more respect / status, they were in practice more or less equal. The Spanish ignored this - when they arrived, the Hanan was in power - and as such, I don't think we know many (five or so?) Sapa Inkas of the Hurin; the Spanish only recorded those of the Hanan, what with them being 'the highest'.

Sidenote; I think (unsure) the traditional spelling is 'Inka' but we transliterate it as 'Inca'. Is there a difference? I wouldn't know.

So, that was your history lesson for today. :P

Would you say the dlc is worth it for this game?

Depends which one, and for what price. There are plenty of them, and while some are minor changes, the other ones introduce significant changes even to the core mechanisms. I'd say I'd recommend a few, but even without any of them this game is already LOADS of fun.
