"This xxxxxx is something else" is an idiom in English, it's a funny way to say something is remarkable, unusual, strange, different, weird :)

Thanks for the reply! I can't stand a lot of brawlers like Final Fight and Streets of Rage, because to me they're just pushing right on the stick and mashing attack. Every level is the same. But I love RCR (and NES Double Dragon II) because of the variety and interactivity of the environments. You could throw people into pits, hop on signs or boxes or railings to attack from above, hit people with stuff that bounced off walls... And that led to some fun emergent gameplay, like being able to play "baseball" in the park! (you could pitch a ball at the other player, and he could hit it back with the bat).

Discovering RCR:Underground from your giveaway has me giddy with excitement, and what I've seen so far looks good. The one thing I'm worried about is that there's too much emphasis on the combo system. I don't want to play a fighting game and do homework memorizing move lists. RCR was great for just goofing around.

Did you play the original? You think I'll like it? Is the dev responsive to the community, and you think they're going to keep smoothing it out? Or should I schedule an appointment to get my Alex and Ryan tattoo removed?
