Changes will affect how you give games if you're just willing to farm CV.

The changes in status to certain games (which should have been on the bundle list from the start) does not affect me. I never have given away games just to boost my CV.

On the other hand, if the CV system were to be removed entirely and not replaced with what I deemed a suitable alternative, there is a strong likelihood that I would not do public giveaways anymore, and might walk away from the site entirely.

It clearly has. It stopped the CV padding; but it also stopped the giving. The situation is much more complicated than that though, and the community seems pretty well split over it. Most seem in favor of some nebulous tweak to the CV system.

At the end of the day, the contributors are the core of this site and minimizing their generosity by allowing someone to earn just as much with a $1 giveaway as their Bioshock Infinite giveaway is alienating.

Oh no, bundle games got added to the bundle list and people can't farm contributor over it now. I do love the people who fight tooth and nail for the points though, its my secondary source of joy on the forums. When I get a chance to give games, I give them, bundle or otherwise. Couldn't care less whether or not a contributor system is in place or how it works. I give because I have.

I see less of the hour long giveaways, which generally have better odds to win. So it really isn't as simple as if points replenish slower then odds are better. Also, people who were using all their points for the bundled games that were showing up left and right are now probably using their points to enter other giveaways.
I'm going to give away what I have to giveaway. I'm not going to specifically buy things to give away right now, which just coincidentally is happening at the same time as the CV debate.

because the bundle games got listed as... bundle games, people stopped giving away games.
Basically, you're not getting points because people stopped exploiting the system

Nothing has changed. Everytime a new bundle comes out there is a surge in giveaways. This last surge was huge though becuase 2 bundles released at nearly rhe same time. Regardless of any change to CV, the next bundle release will have the same results. Its because they are cheap giveaways or becuase they are unwanted games from the bundles.

I wouldnt notice. Ive had 300 points for about a week now.

there always tends to be a flood of points when a bundle hits or some developer gives away keys and people want to capitalize.
