applied dielectric silicone oil (w-40) to the potentiometers of the analog sticks of the control and the 2 triggers, i remenber plugin it right after and using it but do not try this if you are not sure what you are doing.
If the only thing broken in your control are the analog sticks, you do not need to open it, you can just apply the oil to the sticks and let it go in the control. BUT make sure its silicone dielctric if you gonna do it this way. because normal oil can damage the plastic of the control, and non dielectric will burn it when you plug in.
sry for late anwser dindt noticed this. I think there are Youtube videos for this

On PC the Xbox one, cause it's more compatible to games out of the box. In general though the PS3 one

drivers that will make PS3 controller work on PC. Has X360 compatibility to make it pretty much work straight with Steam games. Requires a little fiddling for initial setup, but good to go afterwards.

Someone already mentioned this one somewhere else, but i don't like the fiddling :-) but its a nice program, of course. but i already got used to the xbox one, at least a little :-)

PS1/2/3 controller. My current is my PS3 controller with MotionInJoy drivers, often with it set to X360 compatibility just so it works with Steam games easily.

Xbox controller/Joystick ...ya that's The Winner !

Saitek makes nice joysticks. But games are usually designed for gamepads. X-Box 360 gamepad is the way to go to supplement KB+Mouse on PC because it's automatically compatible with almost everything without extra software. Only get a joystick if you play simulators.

The Quickshot II owned.
A whole generation of daylight-dodging males grew up with this over-compensatory peripheral long before they could afford fast cars and prescription pills promising impressive gland enlargement results...
I got through several, largely thanks to a friend of mine, who even at that tender age had hands the size of prize-winning pumpkins and refused to play anything other than Daley Thompson's Decathlon and Daley Thompson's Supertest.
Damn you, Daley, and damn you in triplicate, "Hands" O'Hanlon...

XB360 Gamepad is more comfortable and it's better if it's wired. Wireless XB360 controllers I have found to have connectivity drops at sporadic moments as well as the fact that they use replaceable batteries (unless you buy extra tat for them, of course) rather than a rechargeable internal battery like the PS3 one does. The PS3 one also uses Bluetooth which is superior to the XB360's whateverthefuck (educate me) which I have found to have issues, as stated previously.
TEEELLDEEARR: XB360 if wired, PS3 if wireless.

I'm not really sure when it was people started confusing the two terms... A joystick is a stick; a vertical control. And a gamepad is a more bulky, horizontal control. I prefer the Xbox gamepads, and the triggers were most likely added to better simulate weapons fire.

I say joystick to the gamepad, I just love that word! What do you preffer, the xbox JOYSTICK or the playstation JOYSTICK? Tell me what other JOYSTICKS do you know and love :D Extra question: Why did they put triggers to the JOYSTICKS?
