Work to do:

  • Buying FH4 Ultimate
  • If you guys have Trading Card of FH4, go get and sell to community market before 15/12
  • Any background of FH4 you have with rare price, go sell it

That's simple work to do :)
Good luck, everyone

Update: Sale until December 16 (might be the last sale before delisted)

I was kinda hoping for a last discount but I guess nope.

Yeah, I have some hopes they might lower it in the last week but Microsoft doesn't really need it, so not so sure.

Micro$, after letting go thousands of employees and closing down two game studios still needs more money for the $ 79 million salary of their CEO.

Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella, received a $30 million pay increase despite layoffs and cybersecurity issues.
Nadella's compensation for 2024 totaled over $79.1 million, with the majority coming from stock awards.
This represents a 63 percent pay increase over just a single year, as Nadella received $48.5 million in compensation for fiscal year 2023.

i see you have a lot of perfect games, so if you seek 100% completion, it's no longer doable in FH4

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I just like to complete those I can. I have a few I'm still working on but I also have a loooot of games that have achievements with under 0.1% rate so I don't think I'll ever 100% everything. Good to know though because it might be a deal breaker with some achievement hunters.

Will the cards and other items become non-marketable? I thought that was only for games banned from the store by Valve.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It became non-marketable mate
You can get example HITMAN 2016 and HITMAN 2 was no longer available in store, which mean trading card is not available for selling

Guess I'll have to get around to play it then, since it won't even start in Windows 7 I kinda left it for later and forgot, but this is an excuse to finally get around to installing W10 on my desktop PC. Although it's just a few cards so I might as well keep procrastinating it.

You could try GFN, no idea if it works on browser if you have Win 7.
And if it's just for the cards... ASF? Not sure if it works in Win7 either though.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Ah GFN, had completely forgotten about that cos I think last time I used it was last year. Thanks for the tip.
To be honest I've never tried GFN on W7, only ever used it on Android and on my W10 laptop (I don't play Forza directly there because that thing is woefully underpowered when it comes to gaming). And yeah ASF is still running fine for me on W7, although I had to revert to an slightly older version because the last update broke it, it's just that I don't like idling time on my main account because... I guess I'm just obsessive about it, not sure.

Comment has been collapsed.

Oh, well if you do have a W10 laptop that can handle GFN then it would work! I was thinking the Win7 one was your only computer so you had no choice for where to run GFN (and I forgot it worked on Android too, although I think the game selection is much smaller because last time I checked - over a year a go, for the mobile version - it only has the ones that already had touch controls, much unlike Steam Link).
I get you for the idling thing! While I do idle the trash games I know I'm never going to play, I prefer dropping the cards "normally" for the games that I do play.

Odd, I remember the Android app having the exact same catalogue than on PC, it just assumed I was going to connect a controller and otherwise it just threw a digital controller on screen as if saying "you figure it out". It might be because GFN is ran by a third party in my region tho.

Just out of curiosity I started up the app on my phone to check, and after updating, re-linking my accounts (not sure why it forgot everything), and letting it load, it shows me 386 games available to play. So my guess is than that is all regardless of type of control.

Comment has been collapsed.

Ah, right, connecting controllers to a phone is a thing. 😅 Well, nice then, enjoy! :D
I don't remember too much of my thing, aside that on mobile it hoisted Fortnite, Genshin and something else to the top even though I never played any of them - simply because they're games that have native touch controls.

Sadly, yes. Even Points Shop items become unobtainable for some reason, even though they're already non-marketable.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That's just Steam trying to rush people into getting all the items in case they disappear.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Not sure if that's the idea but most of the time I don't have the chance to claim items from Points Shop since I have no prior information about some game getting delisted. So I usually spend nothing :)
I can see no reason for them to do this.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah it's pretty silly imo. One way or another. I think the whole point store started as a way to get users with a collector fetish going and spending to get points but I doubt they got what they wanted.
Honestly even cards going non-marketable is a bit silly. I guess they don't want "rare" items prices flaming up but they could leave it for a while so that people can complete their badges for instance.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Points Shop is a nice addition since crafting badges end up randomly if you want a certain item and you cannot craft more than 5. However that also made crafting items kinda pointless :P.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Huh, that part sounds less intentional and more like a quirk of the system.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, I think so. I understand why they did it for marketable items, because they'll become rare items and some users will surely abuse this. But not being able to get them from Points Shop indeed looks unintentional, it just doesn't make sense.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I asked this to Steam Support and got this reply, it seems not a quirk. :(

If the message you get when attempting to buy an item in the Points store is that items from this game are no longer available, you will not be able to buy those items in the Points Store.

Well, that's kinda sad, means that they really want items to become unavailable :(

Yeah, it's strange. There is even a warning if you try to get an item from a delisted game.

The items for this game are no longer available.

It never was on Steam. Furthermore, these racing games with heavy licensing for vehicles pretty much never return (vel Project Cars, Codemasters' games, Blur, etc.)

"On December 15, Forza Horizon 4 will be delisted from stores and Xbox Game Pass. This means the game and its additional content will no longer be available for purchase. Players who already own the game and its content will be able to download and play it as normal, including its offline, online, and multiplayer features; physical copies of the game purchased after this date will also work and will be able to use online features."

It's on discount (–80%) for the Xbox version, and since it's a "Xbox Play Anywhere" title, you can play it on PC too anytime, then continue playing it on console (Xbox One/Series) and vice versa. I recommend getting the Ultimate Edition, that's the only way to get the expansions:

I received today notice from the Forza newsletter:

Until delisting, Forza Horizon 4 Ultimate Edition will be 80% off on Xbox and Steam, with Steam's discount starting on November 27th. This includes the Fortune Island and LEGO Speed Champions expansions, as well as VIP Membership, Car Pass, Best of Bond Car Pack, and Formula Drift Car Pack.

So as I guessed, 80% will be the maximum discount until delisted on Dec 15th. No 90%, sorry for those who were hoping for it. You can start getting that 80% discount in about a week, on Nov 27th. Ultimate Edition includes every DLC except three FREE ones ('Mitsubishi Car Pack', '1967 Sunbeam Tiger', any '1979 Talbot Sunbeam Lotus'), and the retired from store 'Hot Wheels™ Legends Car Pack'.

I'm not sure how these three DLCs will be available after game being delisted, so you can add them from Steamdb, just click the install button (after purchasing the game, of course). First one is the Mitsubishi Car Pack which is still available for free claiming at the FH4 store page.

If you're in doubt, I got 800 hours of fun from this, paying more and it's still the non-idle game that got the cheapest hour of fun in my library. If you like arcade open world racers with 700 cars, get it. You can always refund it if you aren't convinced in the first two hours (a bit less, don't get too close to the limit).

Still a pretty good discount but it's at least good to know there is a timeframe and a hard limit so no need to wait for something that won't happen.
