Are you looking for more games that last long, or mini games stuff?
Maybe it's an idea to download GameCube emulator and play some mario games together from it. I play Mario Kart Double Dash and Mario Sunshine all the time with my friends. Maybe also fun to do with your sister?

I think that if Nintendo really was against it they would try to shut Dolphin (The Emulator) down. I don't really know if it's legal or not but I don't think you can get in trouble, but this can be different per country. I honestly do not know.

Could they take down Dolphin, or any of the many other emulators? Most likely not. Emulators are not inherently illegal, as long as they're written using original code, and not using code written by someone else, who as not given you permission to use it. That's why you got things like ePSXe forcing you to use your own BIOS, which they would not supply, if you wanted to use the emulator, because they did not have the rights to that bit, but the actual emulator was not illegal. Nowadays there are PS1 emulators that don't require you to download a BIOS, and that's actually quite important, because now you can fully legally play PS1 games on your PC, as long as you buy the games, even if you don't have a PS1.
And Dolphin would be in a similar situation. I've not looked into it (but I might at some point if my Wii breaks down), there's nothing illegal about it, so Nintendo can't do anything about it, other than sending a strongly worded letter and hope for the best.

That is only true if u Dump the game yourself if u download a game it is still illegal because you are technically using the license of the person who did dump said game, not the one u have paid for.

Dumping means u make a backup from your own physical copy of the product, like ripping a CD.

Emulators themselves aren't illegal. A precedent was made in the case between Bleem and Sony many years ago where a judge ruled that if you own a physical medium, you should have the right to play it on any format you choose.
Downloading WII games off the internet and playing them is most definitely illegal though :p

"Although Sony's litigation against Bleem! led the company to bankruptcy, Sony did not manage to win a decisive victory against Bleem! and to have the product removed from shelves after their demise, which is a legal precedent for the commercial viability of emulators[citation needed] invigorating development of many free PlayStation emulators[citation needed] offering 90% or greater compatibility, and with Bleem! generally regarded as obsolete."

mostly this ^
though the most illegal part of emulators and roms is neither.. its the bios (strange no1 mentioned this so far)..
the emulators themselves are harmless and perfectly legal, the roms & isos are legal if an original copy is owned by said person, however the only way you can combine the two together into a playable form is by using a BIOS which is very copyright protected by the console developers.. thats why when you download an emulator they tell you to go get the bios separately, that way the emulator software didnt break any laws.
Comment has been collapsed.
yeah, well, it's more detail than necessary.
You're absolutely correct, in that emulating hardware is legal (the emulator is merely performing the same functions), whereas copying software is not. the BIOS stores software, a boot loader or an operating system, and therefore copying the content of the BIOS is copyright infringement.
It is possible to reverse engineer the BIOS (see e.g. Compaq or Phoenix Technology reverse engineering IBM's BIOS, which is what started the wintel hegemony), but from a practical perspective it's not worth it for emulator developers to bother with.
Basically, having an emulator is legit, but it needs a BIOS to run. Obtaining the BIOS in a usable form is problematic. Either you need to download it illegally, or you need to own it and use special hardware to convert it into a useful form.
Downloading games from the internet is generally also illegal; you'd need to legally purchase the game and then copy it. But, in the U.S., it's illegal to circumvent anti-piracy measures, so, um, yeah, good luck with that. essentially, there's no legal way to obtain copy to play in your emulator

The wizorb I found appears to be single player, could be looking at wrong one. Portal 2 is a lot of fun, I'll see if my sister would like it. The Lego games I can play on the wii, good idea, I do own castle crashes so we can try that same screen multiplayer, borderlands 2 is sadly rated M. Splelunky looks fun though!

Play Streets of Rage Remake with her, it's free from the streets of Rage online webpage, just turn off the blood if there's apparently violence issues, I mean common, she has to grow up at some point and here you are, bringing her into video games, just saying. A good old remade beat em up might go both your alleys, just like Double Dragon Neon. Also Castle Crashers is violent, blood and decapitations all around. Someone's suggesting Age of Empires, I doubt she's into strategy games but hey I could be wrong, Age of Empires games are kinda tame, no blood, just screaming and warfare, could try other free RTS games if you're liking those, games like twisted insurrection, openra although these are more rough but hey, atleast the violence is not full screen. Nothing else non violent but multiplayer doesn't come to mind, violence was never an issue, this really complicates it...maybe fun animated card games like Infinity Wars could suffice? There's also Sonic 2 and Sonic 3, one of you could play as Tails :] if you got the controlers though I think, not sure....there's always Dungeon Defenders and maybe Orcs Must Die 2? Very co-op but a bit violent.

The violence issues is my protective parents. :(
The first fps game they let me buy was Overwatch. I'm in high school and they don't let me play rated M games unless they say yes ahead of time. (they think violent games will make me less sensitive to violence)
Edit: Overwatch is probably the most expensive game I have ever gotten.

If you have a Wii U, get Splatoon, it's tons of fun, and doesn't have any gore.

I don't know how old your sister is so I won't suggest games like Viscera Cleanup Detail or Orcs Must Die. However you can try great games like Trine 1-2 (I personally wouldn't recommend Artifacts of Power due to frustrations with gameplay), Portal 2, StarCraft, Torchlight II and Rise of Nations. Badlands Game of the Year Edition might be a good option too even though I didn't try it myself cause it's local coop only :(

There's a lot of blood and thousands of massacres in StarCraft though, those marine screams in terms of cringy is high... Lots of body parts in Orcs must die fly around, viscera clean up has you moping human blood and rise of Nations is a wargame, war is hell. Just saying.

That's why I said I won't suggest those games, they were merely mentioned as examples of games that I will NOT suggest :) And from previous replies from the OP, I got the feeling that she might be interested in Strategy games due to city building nature of them if you remove the combat so I suggested Starcraft and Rise of Nations because of that feeling. The OP also said they will ask the sister if she might like Age of Empires (also a war game...)
You kill in these games yes but there is no visible blood. Violent campaign can be skipped completely if you are interested in multiplayer only. Besides marine screaming can be fixed under options; not to mention you can play against each other (they are looking for games to play together after all, they can make up their own rules) and avoid combat altogether and just build stuff, armies etc. Rise of Nations multiplayer has options to make it a Wonder buildings or economy based as win conditions. You can't even kill cause you either need to build enough Wonders of the World or you need to reach a certain economic power to become victorious. It's up to the OP to find out if the sister will be interested in my recommendations.

Critter Crunch is amazing on co-op. My wife didn't play many games but she loves this one.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah it is. We played through the single-player missions too, adventure, puzzle, challenges etc. taking turns and helping each other which is also good fun. I owned it on PS3 years ago, and had to buy it again on Steam. Watch a few videos, especially of the co-op mode. I can't recommend it enough :-)

www.vizzed.com
That site is AWESOME.... I suggest, make an account. You gain points for going on the site per day, points can be used to "rent" a game.. It IS a legit site, the owner has "If any developers don't want this on here, please send me an email" It's got games from Atari - PS1 ( that needs a lot of points to rent)

Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons is meant to be played single player, but can be played with two on a single controller, with each player using a different side of the controller to control one of the brothers. I played it like this with my daughter and she enjoyed it a lot.
