Well there is Portal and most puzzle games obviously, as well as the racing and sports games (not mentioning simulators :P) ! There are also many great RPGs/Action games which you can complete without ever killing anyone, two of the bunch being absolutely amazing, some of my personal favourite, that is Deus Ex: Human Revolution (technically you do have to kill the 3 bosses though, but that's it, and though it is an FPS, you can actually complete the game without even firing a single shot) and Dishonored (you do technically play kind of an assassin, but in every mission there is the possibility to find a non-lethal solution)

Also I guess in Injustice you do never kill any superhero, but it does almost look like it. There are also card games, such as Hearthstone and MTG: Duel of the Planeswalkers, and stuff like Pokemon, but this is also debatable, as you do "put down" minions/creatures/pokemon :p

As an RTS, it's kinda impossible to find I think, but in most turn-based, mainly 4x games such as Civilization, you can also bypass any kind of killing !

How can an RTS be without killing????? Seriously... You want games without killing, play puzzle games. World of Goo is the best one EVER. Well, unless you count burning the pieces of goo or smashing them with giant spiky things as murder.

Every game is non violent if you are a p...p...p..pleasant young man/woman . Sports and racing games,puzzles and point and click games . LEGO games are something I can recommend if you are actually looking for something for children,it's still enjoyable for anyone, I love them . Plants vs Zombies,not non-violent but I mean just look at it . Minecraft can be put to creative mode for building . Guitar Hero,Mario games . Yeah,Mortal Kombat too ! Totally gore free ... Hope I helped,but OP please edit/reply since I am not sure if it's for your kids or for yourself . Even cartoons are about defeating something ! TMNT and Power Rangers fought villains and I am pretty sure humanity is fine .

Well, Tycoon games are usually not really violent. Race games or sport games neither.
