If I look at the Twitch page, first 50 games listed, except for FIFA 14, all games you have to kill something. No other ideeas for game? What i played so far with no killing: Simulator games(farming, trains, racing, sports, etc.), The Sims, Kerbal Space Program, World of Goo, Wild Life park , Super Hexagon.

What other interesting games like this you know ? Any RTS?

So . . . I'm guessing Minecraft is too violent?

I would mention Tetris, but that game involves destroying blocks.

If you limit yourself to games without violence, you're cutting out a -lot-. Violence is just the simplest form of conflict, and perhaps the most easily understandable.

I don't see how kerbal space program counts as "no violence and killing" when the spaceship can explode or crash. Then all your kerbals on board die too.

I think you'll find that the same outcome is inevitable, and it's up to YOU to get that shuttle right and succeed, so technically, he's right. If you don't live up to the Kerbal's somewhat astronomic goals and ideals, they get snotted, end of.

Hmm...on Mortal Kombat, unless you know the move-codes, you still don't kill them. You have a set amount of time to do a "Fatality" but if you take too long, or just don't know which buttons to press, then they just collapse, without dying

Haven't played all of these, yet but own most and have heard a lot about them being good:

Papers, Please (there is violence, but the player does not inflict it)

Stanley Parable (Haven't played it, except the demo, but I don't believe you have to kill something in it)

Dear Esther (Not really a game, actually, but really worth taking a look at)

Perspective (http://games.digipen.edu/downloads/perspective_setup?id=1170&download=25930) --> short, but free and really good

There are lots of peaceful simulation games, Rollercoaster Tycoon has already been mentioned, also SimCity, Theme Hospital and the like.

Startopia (I suppose, haven't played it but own it on GoG)

Railroad Tycoon II

Tropico (?)

To the Moon

Mirror's Edge

Fez

Swapper

The Book of Unwritten Tales

Botanicula

Children of the Nile

you have to kill yourself at least once in Stanley Parable to have all the endings.

Didn't know that, thanks. But I still would not call it a violent game.

Mirror's Edge does have it where you can take the Police's ,or as the game calls them "Blues", weapons and either use it to disarm them or to use the weapon to kill them ,the killing is not necessary as far as I know but I have no completed the game and if you miss a jump or a certain action you have to do, you will sometimes fall off the building or whatever object you are standing on and hit the ground and die but the death does not show anything but a black screen and a sound which is more or less similar to a hammer hitting the ground. (There are trial runs you can do once you complete levels which do not include any police but you must go through the levels first, doing this would be good if you are needing these games for a child and you are okay with a little violence, you can go through the game or at least some of it and then use the trials after that)

Why do people make fun of this and post the most violent games? What's wrong with wanting to play non-violent games, there are a lot of great titles out there.

It's all the media's role to desensitize the public in preparation of a massive attack on the Steam headquarter lest they release HL3 by 2015, they said.

This is ignoring the violent reaction you will have to the game and the inevitable killing of yourself as a result of trying to complete it.

Open Origin and click on "Redeem Game Key" or something like that. When asked to enter a key, enter this:

I-LOVE-THE-SIMS

Aaand there you go, it will be added to your Origin library.

Well, bugger me with a fish fork, it actually worked. lol Thank you, my daughter is gonna love playing this. She likes the latest one but with all the addons, it takes an extremely long time to boot up, and sometimes lags quite badly, and I'm running: ahem
i7 990X
12GB RAM
Asus MATRIX GTX580 Platinum

Sims 3 should not lag that badly on those specs I know someone with an I3 1.6ghz with no gpu who runs the game (lowest settings) have you changed any of the graphics options ingame?

Comment has been collapsed.

I'm not sure what she's tried, to be honest. She's smart enough to know to lower the graphics, if it's a newer game, (Watch Dogs springs to mind), if lags start showing. But, as you so rightly pointed out, my PC should look at Sims 3 and laugh it's well-toned, muscular ass off. This is with EVERYTHING, though, all expansions, all store items, all "Stuff" packs. It just doesn't seem to like it when they're all loaded on to the PC, and I've searched for this and quite a few people have had to basically abandon the expansions and Stuff packs that they don't want as much as the others as it was happening with them, too. I'm not sure if they have fixed this or not but it wasn't just me and a darkest-corner-of-the-internet Gollum-type person, there were lots of users with the same complaints

Check if their are any Viruses or anything similar on the computer try and clear those out. Then check if you have any mods installed with the game (If you do the Mods them self cold hold viruses). If you do have any mods try taking them out. (They might corrupt any save files using them if you are able to remove any modded items out of the save before deleting it). Finally try and check if anything out of the ordinary is running with task manager, and check how much Cpu and Memory the computer is using with the game on and off.

I can think of a lot of games with no killing. Here are a couple of highlights:
-Myst series
-The Monkey Island series
-The Syberia series
-The Sam & Max series
-Theme Hospital (you can kill people... but you should not)
-Theme Park
-The Kyrandia series
-To the Moon
-Cities in Motion 1-2
-Transport Tycoon
-The Longest Journey

Kairo
The Swapper (so far no killing, probably won't be)
Crayon Physics (welp, not so intresting)
Auditorium - great puzzle-ish game
if Super Hexagon plays, then Clickr too
Book of unwritten tales... haven't played, so can be fairy tale, or a much darker version. But looks really awesome.
Cook, Serve, Delicious
Dustforce
FEZ + 1
Hacker-series
Home Sheep Home 2 - if this is relevant to the flash version, it's super family-friendly, also not in the lame-way.
Influx - still to be tried out, but physics based, and you are with a ball :) I don't think too much violence occurs
Race the Sun
Shatter
