A Man is Apparently "Legally Dead" in the eyes of the Law

Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.

No there were no sayings about will he or will he not have to pay taxes...cuz you know, he's a dead man.

I think they shouldn't have to pay back the money they received... and that the man should be given back his living status. Too tired to give reasons for my opinion but that's wot I think.

So if he's alive, but dead, does that make him the first ACTUAL zombie on this planet?

From a legal stand point this is very awkward. Since he has been declared dead essentially he has no legal rights but at the same time no legal obligations either. Any money he collects from any source is 100% tax free. It sounds like since the ex wife is the one who had him declared dead she is responsible for his estate and thus any debts owed by it. Normally the dead don't run up new bills but it sounds like if he does then legally his ex is responsible for paying them. Dead people can't be charged with crimes.

He also can't get any credit, pass any background checks for anything including buying a gun, get a passport, or hold most jobs that are on the up and up.
