Thank them when you get your game you won, and mark it as received when you activated it to your account.

After a couple of days, it might be a good idea though. The sender could have sent an email that didn't reach it's destination so better let him know you didn't get anything.

I find it rude, I only do this if 7 days have passed though, because they might have forgotten and I don't want to a leave a mark on the persons profile. Life gets in the way sometimes, things happen, people forget on occasion.

I think it's only rude if you start asking for your gift straight after the giveaway had ended. If you don't hear anything from the giveaway's creator after a couple of days has passed, you should contact them. Sometimes the creators have forgotten about their giveaways, so it's not a bad idea to contact them yourself, if they don't seem to make any effort to contact the winner.

Some scammers have done that to try to get games someone else won.

You can wait for the email, looking also in your spam folder, or for the gifter to add you on Steam. The gifter has 7 days to complete the transaction with you.
If after a couple of days you didn't get anything, you can also add the gifter. Sometimes emails just get lost or end up in the spam folder.
Once you received the game, just mark it as received on the website.

I have a question too. (I did read the FAQ!) I want to enter a collection giveaway and it states "If you already own 1 or 2 of the games you can still enter to the giveaway". I own one, so I can enter. But what do I do with they one I already have when I win? I can not re-gift or anything according to the FAQ, so do I keep this key unused, just ignore it? (I have not won yet, probbly won't, but just wondering.) Thanks in advance for any answers. :)

If you win just tell the giver that you have "title" game. If it's joined key then there are no problems (the extra game disappears), if not just ask person giving it away (he might keep the code for the one game you own and give it away separately or he might just tell you to do whatever with it)

I don't think it must be in one key. It is necessary that the product is complete (so for example if people are giving away BoI Complete they might give the winner HiB game+dlc key and soundtrack gift = everything included in "complete" is there therefore it would be valid)

I was thinking more in the sense of what is the etiquette for the winners and their donators. :D

Sorry for the noob question, but what do you have to do when you win something on the site? Just wait for the email?
