Alright, so today I just woke up and the moment I went onto Steam, I was greeted with Rm34.47 (500py6 in russian currency) in my Steam account

I don't remember adding that much funds or ever needing to add those funds and a found a Reddit thread about it that might lead to a a scam

Thats is a payment method, only in Russia Link Source
You should contact Steam Support ASAP, in the mean time, you should not spend that money.

they should not block your account for any reason else this can be exploited to block certain traders

This is indeed a method used to have certain accounts locked. This of course requires your account name to be known though, which it shouldnt be, ever.

A Steam Support error, you say?

Hopefully whoever was responsible won't get any bananas for a week, and will lose his/her shit-throwing privileges indefinitely...

smeehrrr (Valve Employee): This was a human error on the part of the support agent moving the funds to the correct account. It is not indicative of an exploit. The account in question has been unlocked and we’re going to look at improving our tooling to prevent similar errors in the future.

Beware
It can also be one of the most popular in Russia fraud:

  1. Fraudsters put funds into your account.
  2. They call / write you that the wrong number and asked to return the funds to them (putting the same amount of funds indicated their account / number).
  3. They recall sent them in claim 1 means the official way, and you stay in the loss.

Contact Steam Support.
Prepare yourself for sale-less Xmas, as you might get your account purchase-locked - you might want to find some friend/family to buy you gifts during Xmas.

they probably just sent out a prewritten message. i can't believe that the support really thinks that restarting your computer helps.
do you sold any items on the steam market? maybe you forgot abaout it?
Otherwise i would reopen the support ticket and write them again.

That is a stupid copy-paste response. Reopen the ticket and ask for a real answer.
