A while ago I had someone do that as well. Then they won another gift from me the next day. :)

I agree to the saying thanks being the only respectable option [regardless of whether the game was sent through SG, Steam, e-mail, snail mail, or by carrier pidgeon], though if they prefer to offer that gratitude through SG rather than steam, that's fine as well- they shouldn't be held to a specific approach just 'cause Steam forces it on them.

I'm guessing by your post they didn't do that, either, though :X

Eh, I used to say thanks to every giveaway I entered. Not so much anymore.

I always say "thank you" when I win, but not always upon entering a giveaway. I've had quite a few of my public giveaways go without any word whatsoever from the winner, and I used to blacklist them if they didn't bother to say anything. While the lack of appreciation from public winners does still annoy me slightly, I don't really expect it anymore... it's also not worth my time to blacklist them all. Now if someone from my whitelist isn't appreciative, I'll boot them from the list.

harsh, i been really lucky and i make sure the generous people know how thankfull i am, and i really am, dosent matter the price any quantity of money is earned with effort.

Oh, last time I did this, it was a small-scale invite-only, and I didn't get thanks either. I'm used to it by now so no biggie for me.

My rule of thumb, always say thanks on all the gibs you've won.

If the game is really good, say thanks twice.

Works for me.
