Hey guys, i have the base game only and want to upgrade to the Legendary Edition. Is buying LE is the cheapest way to do it? Or is there any other way?

No, it would be cheaper to get all of the DLC on sale, maybe during the winter sale, Skyrim is always on sale then. LE is cheaper to get everything if you don't own Skyrim, but otherwise just getting the DLC is cheaper.

EDIT:Just looked at the prices, it would actually be cheaper to get the LE. I don't own Skyrim, and haven't looked into it, so I assumed that the DLC would be 75% off like the base game, while it is only 50% off. Once you have Skyrim & one major DLC, it is cheaper to get the DLC during a sale.

Are you sure about that? Bethesda is super greedy and for Dishonored at least it's much cheaper to buy the GOTY Edition if you want the DLC, even if you already own the base game. Pretty sure that's how they did it for Skyrim as well.

Not true, getting Legendary Edition is actually the cheapest way...getting all the DLCs in more expensive, Skyrim LE 10.99€ on Summer Sale 66%, all DLCs 25€, even on 75% that would be 11.25€, DLCs practically never go more than 50%, the entire game can go 75% next Winter Sale.

Besides the fact that Bethesda has a tendency to discount DLC less than the base game and complete editions, this is not true.
$19.99 USD: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Dragonborn
$4.99 USD: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Hearthfire
$19.99 USD: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Dawnguard.

That's $44.97 just for the DLC when the LE is $39.99.

Always check the LE's and the separate DLC's price at sales. It's a little strange, but usually LE is cheaper, because it has all the DLCs, the base game, but if you check it anytime on steam, there is a 'bundle' price: it costs less than the actual content would. If you add up with little madness-thingy, like legendary aditions is -66% or -75% at sales, while DLCs usually getting only -50% off, sometimes it's cheaper to get the full one. Just be careful, not impulse-buy: compare the separate prices and the full package's price at sales :)

Bethesda just loves doing that, but at least their DLC is usually pretty good. Its not like their all-in-one packages are full of fluff, but it is a bit irksome that we can't just upgrade with a DLC pack.

It's the same with other Bethesda titles, like for instance Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Buying all DLC's a rip-off... It twice the price of GOTY/Ultimate Edition. Someone got irradiated...
