Depends if you want PC games or not. I usually play on the tablet these days so have lots of PC games (KOTOR, BG1,2, Icewind Dale, Shadowrun Returns and Dragonfall, some LEGO games, Dead Synchronicity, Castle of Illusions, Ducktales, Tomb Raider II, and many more). They're still probably better on the PC in term of controls. I just bought Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath and it has very good reviews. Haven't tried it yet (not enough space on the tablet).

I'm a big fan of Plague Inc and i also like games from Kemco like Revenant Saga, Asdivine Hearts, Fanatic Earth or Chrome Wolf. The Kemco games when bought from the Play Store contain microtransactions, but all of the content is accessible with a bit of grinding, so you don't have to spend a cent.

Knights of Pen & Paper (is also on Steam), Its just so addictive and fun to play, it also works perfectly as a mobile game as it saves automatically and doesnt requires internet connection.

Bumping this old thread because I'm reviving it due to reasons already stated.

I recall getting a $25 Google Play card last Christmas. However, fast forwarding to today, I still haven't found anything worthwhile on the Google Play store. So, is there anything good on the Google Play store? Or is it all microtransactions-riddled garbage?
To elaborate a little more on this, I generally don't care for the average F2P game that includes microtransactions as means of progression or sports games in general. I'm just looking for fun games I can play whenever I'm not on steam.
12/22/16 Edit: Yes, I am reviving this old thread, probably because I still have $15 left on the Google Play store. For no reason at all, here's a current list of games I have installed on my phone in alphabetical order. It might be updated as I install more stuff onto it, it might not be, I'm not sure.
Asdivine Hearts
Carmageddon
Door Kickers
Downwell
Grand Theft Auto San Andreas
Knights of Pen and Paper
Plague Inc.
Spider: Rite of the Shrouded Moon
