"Would you like to be a game developer? And if so, what game would you make?"
[Translation of OP]
I have no desire to be a game developer. I'm a writer, instead. People hire me whenever they want their story or dialog to not sound like it was written by a third-grader. Of course, many people think they can do a professional job without hiring a professional and so their projects turn out badly. That's one of the funny things about Art: most people think "I can do that" when they really can't.

The answers were interesting, but for some reason I had the most fun attempting to understand the question. :) What do these words mean when combined like this? And what is to're? Great fun! :)
Thank you for the translation! :)
I've seen "don't know enough to realise you don't know anything" called Dunning-Kruger effect, but it's a pity it has to have a name. I wonder if there's a name for the drive to name everything. :)

A couple developers I've worked with in the past and I are discussing putting together an off-beat new game from one of our favourite franchises. Still a ton of prep work to do with licensing the franchise and estimating costs to retain the original voice actors. Probably easier just to ditch the franchise and go original, but it would be less fun to develop.

Still incorrect. It should be "would you like to be a game developer?"

I kinda do and don't. What I'd like to do is write stories for games because the works of fiction I write tend to be better suited for games than actual novels. However, I grew to hate programming when I tried to go to school to learn it. I definitely have always wanted to make games, but I later came to realize that it was more that I want to write a game with a good story, not so much do the programming work.
So what I'll probably do is fiddle around with RPG maker a bit and try to get a solid game with the included resources and just spend my time making it. Once I have something that has only cost me time and the money I put in to buy it from last week's Humble Bundle, then I'll look into spending the money to make it unique and consider marketing it. But in the end what would make me happy is if even a few people play it and enjoy the stories I want to tell.

I do believe it would be fascinating to develop a game. I seem to be on a sci-fi kick as of right now, so I would probably go with that genre. Of course my mood swings would kick in and it would turn into a RPG/RTS later on and probably end up a sim. I suck at decisions.

i will, at some point. if i don't kill myself or something.
not sure which part of development will i be tough, maybe gameplay design, character design and some code. i suck at coding.
and yes, i have some ideas. mainly my favorite genres.
Third person stylish action (Devil May Cry like [the real one]).
Heavy Stealth based game (like the old splinter cell games). i even have the story for this one.
i have a lot of ideas, they may see the light one day.

Personally, never. I used to do lots of PR and I'd be the next Phil Fish. I'm bad with rude Gamers. Plus the trolling I got just connecting Devs with Streamers and the overall open word critics is overbearing. Just look at examples of how people rage about Cubeworld (the two person Devs cannot get a patch out due to hackers stopping patches and the community raging) or Rocket (who's getting out due to the fact people found his home number and threatened his family). It doesn't matter if you make the perfect game, in this market, once you become a dev with a little publicity you life will be open to all hell.
Exp' look at Phil Fish. . . Everyone watched the movie that covered the hell the went through trying to get Fez out there. Even though the public knew he had a mental issue and was targeted by a reporter troll the public still had no mercy. Yes he did go overboard but there is no mercy from the public on Devs with problems. Though Fish really did go three steps beyond what is acceptable he does prove that there is no mercy in the game market. Heck even though I'm saying Phil fish was wrong people will still rage on this post :P

I recommend learning proper English before becoming a 'famous' game developer.

Every time I see this title pop in the forums I get extremely angry for some reason and feel like punching a baby.

I've started a few projects over the years but never really got enough into them to bring them to completion. Maybe some day I will make something worth it but so far it's more tech demos than anything.

So, is "to're" a contraction of "to are"?
I think what you were going for is "to be" (and please don't write "to'be" or something). My suggestion to you if you really want to be a famous and successful game dev is to either study English or collaborate with someone who has. Nothing puts a game into the "amateur" pile faster than poor writing.

In all honesty, I'd rather be a drug smuggler.
I can't draw, I can't make music, can't write anything interesting, I can program but lack confidence in my code, I suffer from social anxiety so I couldn't direct a studio and I'm a socialist with "minor" anger management issues so I'd just end up killing everyone who works for the publisher and was in all probability trying to milk everything out of my game.
I'll be the one enjoying games for the time being, not the one making them.
