Metro 2033 and last light. Both games are some of the best story driven FPS i've ever played.
Firewatch. Short game but a lot brighter setting. Worth it if you get it on a sale.
Dreadout if you like horror. It is like the fatal frame serie.
F.E.A.R 1-2 The third game sucks ass and the dlc's to the first one is meh at best. Besides that it is an awesome FPS.
If you got some friends to play with you should look up Duck Game or Ultimate Chicken Horse. They both looks like a lot of fun.

Three favourites of all time, I just can't choose between them:

I've only heard of Grim Fandango - I'll take a look at the other two as well!

You absolutely have to play Grim Fandango. It's got everything you seem to want in a game. Great story, heroic, drama, happy ending... It's an experience you will never forget.

I've heard great things about this, but I've never actually bought it. I'll take another look at it!

I do :) I really should give it a proper go, though. I've tried it a few times, but always got bored at the beginning. I get the sense that it's one of those games that gets more fun the more time you put into it

Not sure if my favorite game (Dark Souls Prepare to Die) is a good game for someone who needs a game to play.... but I can suggest Bioshock Infinite (you won't regreat, it's not a generic fps, story, gameplay, characters, everythins is amazing).

I'd say KotOR 1. Very good character design, chilled combat system, good quests with multiple endings

One of my all time favorite games (see my steam username and profile pic, lol) :)

you should try the borderland franchise. [borderland[with addon] borderland 2[with addon]borderland the pre sequel[with addon]tales from the borderlands] also keep an eye out for when they are gonna try borderland 3. it might be awesome, unless they decide to make it a blank rpg like they did with sacred, diablo and dungeon siege
im gonna pitch in some hiden gem too.
kameo:elements of power (only xbox 360)
total annihilation (only pc)
dungeon keeper 2 (only pc)
motor storm pacific rim (only ps3)
sacred 1 gold (only pc i think)
dungeon siege 1 and 2 (with the expantion pack world of arana and broken world) [only for pc]
the deux ex franchise (i didnt play all of them yet thought)
i didnt try the first game of kameo that came before kameo:elements of power.
dont touch either sacred 3 or dungeon siege 3, those are shit (sorry for believer but its a loyalist speaking here so i know my stuff)

I've played BL1, BL2, and BL:TPS - really enjoyed 1 and 2, didn't finish TPS because I didn't care for it. Great games!

No clear favourites, but there are a few games at the top of the list.
Victoria 2 is my most played game of all time, as it scratches a grand strategy itch that nothing else can. It's the only game of its kind, with more of a focus on internal affairs and spheres of influence than on warfare, so even though I've been frustrated by it more often than pleased, it's still a game I love.
Port Royale 2 and Sid Meier's Pirates let me indulge in naval adventures around the Caribbean. The former scratches an economic management itch, the latter is all about adventuring in a wonderful atmosphere.
Railroad Tycoon 3 is another economic management game, this time featuring something else I get excited about - railroads.
The Tropico series has produced no less than 2 candidates for favourite - Tropico 3 with the Absolute Power expansion, and Tropico 2: Pirate Cove. The former is perhaps the best in the series, merging great gameplay with that unique Tropico flair. The latter is the only game I know of that lets you manage a pirate gang's hideout, and I find that exciting.
Cities Skylines manages to claw its way to the prestigious position of my favourite (pure) city-builder. Go to its store page if you want to read praise about it.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
EDIT: Oh, oh! I forgot King of Dragon Pass! Easily one of the best games I've ever played. It's a game in which you guide a clan which recently resettled in a dangerous land. Great mix of management and adventuring through a procedural story. It's also a game that highlights the importance of art style and has quite the unforgettable atmosphere.

I took a quick look at your games, it seems like you like Hidden Object games. I'd suggest Angelica Weaver and Castle: Never Judge a Book by its Cover especially if you like the show.
Also I noticed that you don't have Dreamfall Chapters... How could you?
The Room is also a great brain teaser. Short but sweet.
Also... HuniePop. (:
But seriously, start with Dreamfall Chapters. Then jump onto the Broken Sword series (Don't play the 3 and 4. 3D in Broken Sword games are terrible). Almost forgot, Runaway is a good adventure serie too.

My wife and I love to play HOGs together :)
I will definitely take a look at Dreamfall Chapters.

Looking at your unplayed games on Steam, you have to try Darkness II and Spec Ops: The Line.
Darkness II is short but is absolutelly amazing. The gameplay is great overall and the story is well written with memorable characters that can actually make you fell for them. Went into it blind and was taken aback by how good it turned out to be. Shame the original is only on consoles, because the story in it is just as good or better. Weak gameplay though.
Spec Ops is in a way an excelent example of videogames as art if you ask me. It takes advantage of systems and nuances that exist only in videogames to tell it's story and cause different emotions on the person playing. The gameplay is a bit generic (some people say that it's part of what they tried to show with the game, but i'm not so sure on that aspect...) but it's perfectly serviceable. Really a must play.
And you only have a little bit of Fallout: New Vegas and Dragon Age: Origins played, those are two of my favorite RPGs and frankly, Origins might be my favorite game. Both of them are awesome.

I'll give Spec Ops a try - I could never get into Fallout: New Vegas or Dragon Age: Origins. I didn't really like the combat in either game.
Comment has been collapsed.
Really? Dragon Age's combat is pretty much the same as KotOR and New Vegas is just the same as F3, but fixed.

I didn't like Fallout 3, either :) I have a lot more time in it than F:NV, just because I tried to give it a chance so many times.
And yeah....I have no idea about Dragon Age. Everything about it seems like I should like it, but after trying to get into it 3 or 4 times, I just....don't ¯\( ツ ) /¯

Well, that's a pity, but to each their own i suppose.

Yeah, I know. I really, really, really wanted to like them (that's why I have so many hours in F3, I really tried to push through), but they just didn't click for me.

I have 4 go to games which I have always returned to time and time again.
Company of Heroes 2 for the WW2 mood
XCOM longwar moded for the futuristic mood
Shogun 2 and Mount and Blade: warband for the medieval mood

I'm pretty open to anything :)
However, while many aspects of the Witcher games look amazing, they have too much blood and gore for me :(
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah. Most blood and gore doesn't bother me (I enjoyed Shadow of Mordor) but for some reason the Witcher is just over the top for me :/
I forgot that a friend gifted me Rocket Leauge - I should play it!

So I am in the market for a new game. I know that I have unplayed games on my account, but I've played all the games I want to/some of the games I haven't played yet I'm waiting to play with my wife.
So assume I'm here saying I have nothing to play, and need a suggestion.
What is your favorite game, and why (like seriously, what makes it so good)? You're allowed to answer more than one in the case of a dead tie.
Gibs:
Bad Rats
Also Bad Rats
