No, I never felt the need to troll, I can just play and talk normally and be satisfied.
I befriended a DA troll once, who made shitty art on purpose and pretended to be a kid. I never learned what their intention were, I knew their offline life was very difficult and their art didn't receive as much attention as their troll account. I guess being a fake version of yourself is easier?
Now, gaming trolls, yes. I met plenty of those while playing online. Mostly hackers and exploiters. I don't really get those either. If you're bored of a certain game, why not leave it? Why not play anything else? But I think many of them just enjoy making others feel "miserable", ruining their pleasure and the whole game for their own short lived enjoyment. I guess they're just not getting enough attention, but there are certainly many better ways.

I have completely stopped playing Dota because of other people. I play games to have fun and relax, I'm not wasting my time gathering insults in a PvE custom gamemode with NOTHING at stake.

I think you're giving them too much credit by calling them trolls.. Technically that's not trolling, that just people being jerks. Trolling should involve some level of clever brain activity in order to fool others..
Aside from that, that's also a reason I mostly avoid multiplayer games unless there's minimum interaction like for example Squake.. or local/closed circle multiplayer, own server etc..

Speedrunners is cool for that reason, even if somebody is trolling, they'll just lose :p and there's no time to actually write and read chat

Well in games when some group or person comes in and starts harassing the team? If you can troll them I'd say that's perfectly right.

Trolling will keep happening.
A simple cooldown period isn't enough.
There must be a fair system in place that allows people to get strikes and after a certain amount of strikes the mighty banhammer comes down.
Now of course this requires the developers to set it up and actually have some real warm bodies looking into it but it shouldn't be too hard to motivate some volunteers to take it up for the cause.

Yeah, but it's hard to create system that won't harm normal players that are just considered as trolls by some assholes because they're playing characters they don't like or something. And fair volunteers are hard to choose too

Recently I'm playing more and more multiplayer/competetive games, Rocket League, Overwatch, which I sincerly love, I don't think I've ever liked any multiplayer game like OW and I'm playing more than any other game. But there's a problem, there's a bunch of people, which prefer to spend whole this time on destroying the game, ruining others pleasure of game and feeling real fight for the victory just by killing themselfs, doing nothing, or using exploits, cheating.
And... I don't get it, can really somebody explain to me, how it can feel good? Because for me ruining fun for about 10 other people is just sad. Every time I'm trying to talk to them and ask what's the problem,reason, explanation and why, but nobody wants to answer, it feels like some kind cybernetic zombie issue. Maybe I'm not experienced enough with multiplayer games, because I'm not playing that much (and for many years I didn't play anything) but for me it's just ridiculus, so are creators most of the time doing nothing about that, how can people get banned on sites of forums like this, but not on games generating hundreds of thousands of dolars?
Is there any explanation or am I just naive thinking that there's reason for everything?
Something to redeem that whole time somebody spent on reading my philosophical meditations about gaming :)
