1 is great but I haven't tried 2 yet.

Should've gotten them from Amazon for 5 dollars for the 1+2 bundle.

Storywise 1 beats the second absolutely. Gameplay is improved on the second, but nothing spectacular haven't happend and the story isn't as strong.

Bioshock 2 was free on some website a while ago. As it has been said already, Bioshock 1 has the storyline. Bioshock 2 is superior in gameplay, and just because it's fun. SPOILER ALERT You play as a god damn big daddy. Of course, the story isn't amazing in Bioshock 2. I think I also recall a multiplayer in Bioshock 2, but it wasn't really that fun.

As far as I know 2 is a sequel to 1, so it would only make sense to get 1 first

First one, no doubt. If it were only for the terrible DRM in 2.

Bioshock(1) 100% bioshock 2 is good but nothing compared to the first 1.

Bioshock 1 due to its amazing atmosphere and story. 2nd game's gameplay was better, but it doesn't beat Bioshock 1.

i would recommend one, you will understand the story better.

I think they're both awesome, personally i liked 2 better and i even enjoyed the multiplayer. But if you're asking which one to buy I would say the first one cus that's where you should start.
