Is it me or Steam download speed are very very slow

L4D2 free = overload.

Try to download Payday 2...

Pretty sure they use it as an overload test.

This night ( in belgium) that was very impossible to access to the steam store but now this is more easier and the downloade is very good ( i dowload payday 2 too for the moment and i have no problems)

Downloads are handled by content servers, which in a lot of cases outside the US, i believe, are handled by local ISPs. You can select a different content server to download from in the steam options and hope for better speeds.

Getting my normal 3.4mbps.

I think there may be some recent event that may have resulted in many people getting gifts. Some of these gifts may be Steam games. Plus I heard that for some reason, many children are off from school this week. These two things combined may be contributing to slow servers, but that is just speculation.
