Sorry pal, but I barely find time for playing games :D
But have my bump, use it wisely!

I discovered this thread through the post in zombie group and want to say that it is awesome idea. Too late for all topics I would like to take :)

Fomal Science and Physical Science are the best for me. Earth and Space is pretty close, so ok - I'll take climate :)

Also, I'll be able to donate only a few GAs and they will be bundled. Is it ok and are there people responsible for GAs from different sections?

Good. Then you can count on me. I'll definitely use some interesting stuff about rain. And some light phenomena. It's a big field. Anyway, it's all about math and physics :)

Failure is also accepted though. You can learn a lot of things by failing! xD Nah, just kidding! :P We'll pull this through.

I also completed the puzzles. 3 puzzles of 5 questions each. It was easier to create them than I expected. xD Do you want to check them out, jeffhowe?

Well I guess I'm too late for the puzzle part, but if you still need GA contributors I could add a little bundle train. Nothing special just some spare keys I have lying around. Just an offer in case there should be puzzles without giveaway in the end.

Well I haven't made my puzzle yet... I just put my name in for to fill up all the slots. It would be nice if I was just responsible for the puzzle locks and topical puzzles...
So do you want to take Life Science/Functional Biology/Physiology from me and develop yourself? I was thinking of doing a 3 part puzzle, one on Human anatomy, Human Body Systems, and Unique Animal Physiology.
Comment has been collapsed.
When do you want my train to start and when to finish? Right now I got 5 bundled games I actually enjoyed myself, that I reserved for the train. I can add more (got a lot more keys of games I didn't like myself^^) but I didn't want to spam the train with games hardly anybody wants.

I'm gonna be setting mine to start today at 12:00, and end on the 31st at 12:00, both UTC time, to run for exactly 30 days.

I'm a physician (doctor), so if you need help with the ones about physiology and medicine, you can let me know anytime.

Accepted. Just let me know when you need help. I'm currently studying for residency exams in my country so I may not reply ASAP, but will try to reply fast.

You're welcome, sorry I couldn't get into editing. Don't have a lotta time, but I can always check answers if you need me to.

The model for my puzzle is almost ready. Just need to implement an anti-cheat system for each question and test if it works on browsers other than Chrome.
After that, I just have to come up with 25 questions and we're ready to go. :P
Hopefully I can finish the model today and work on the questions during the weekend.

I actually did something different and if I'm going to use p3d, it will be for the questions.

I am intrigued. I am very trusting when it comes to puzzles, on the grounds that the solving is the reward, the a-ha moment is the drug, and so, why would people cheat. But I recognise that that is not a universally agreed approach. How do you implement an anti-cheat mechanism which isn't a penalty on those trying to solve it legitimately? I really am curious about this one.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh don't get too excited, I simply made the puzzle on my own website, so I had to make sure people couldn't just look at the source code and get the results. :P And I also had to make sure people couldn't cheat with the 30 seconds interval between each guess - still implementing this one.
Comment has been collapsed.
Again, I am less fussed. There are puzzles that can be brute forced, and I get that (and I have even written some). But often when I am waiting out the 30 seconds it is more about knowing the answer and trying to figure out which combination of format and/or punctuation will be recognised by ITH. So again, I am not that concerned. But are there people bypassing the 30 second interval? And if so how? Adjusting tick speeds?
Comment has been collapsed.
No, you didn't get it. I'm implementing my own kind of ITH, so I had to add those restrictions.
It is very rare that I wait for the 30 seconds when I know the answers though. :P Most puzzles I solve aren't that straightforward.

Model ready. Tested on Firefox and it works well, except I couldn't figure out how to hide the scrollbar, so it won't look as nice as on Chrome. Will clean the code today and do some final testing.
I think I can get it done by tomorrow if I have fast ideas for the 25 questions. I'll probably have to make most of those a simple quiz.

It looks absolutely ridiculous on Edge. I'll see if something can be done about it, but people will most likely have to use either Chrome or Firefox, with Chrome being the best option.
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm not making any promises. :P I'll probably post mine later in the month.

Im not gonna start pulling it all together until like the 2nd since can only create GAs 30 days from creation date and want it to go to the 31st... so as long as we all push for trying to get it all in by first week of March-- it's all good...,
But the faster each person gets it done the faster it will go live...
Comment has been collapsed.
I insist though that I would like you to check my puzzles out before I publish them. :P

7/10 almost done. Still need ideas for the last 3 questions :(
Comment has been collapsed.
I'll release them as I get them and will release over the complete week... I may release some and hold back others but everything will be out by first week... there will be puzzle locks to solve where subgroups will have to be fully solved to access more GAs and achievements...

BTW I do appreciate all the puzzle creators who are contributing GAs for their puzzle... but if you would also like to contribute GAs for solvers of full Science groups or the complete event then let me know... of course not required but appreciated...

Make the PRIVATE GAs tomorrow and make them last as late as possible on the 31st of March...
Then email me the link to the first cheapy private GA that you will use to introduce your puzzle on... (that GA is where all hints and chatting will be done about your puzzle). This way the main thread won't have a lot of chat on all the puzzles for the full event but it will be directed just to you on the cheapy GA.
I will reply with a private GA link of mine for you to put on the end of your puzzle after it is solved. This GA will be an extra award for solving your puzzle and include a password for extra achievements.
My email address is: jeffasl@yahoo.com
Thanks!

Sent. Also you can add "tip" for BL people - they can't see GA when they are logged in the site, but they can see it when they are logged out.
So they can either use another browser (like IE), or log out to see hub GA and access the puzzle. Tho they won't be able to ask questions.

An update (and a reason to bump): I decided to completely change my third puzzle. Initially, I had some pictures of microorganism colonies in Petri dishes, but I thought it wasn't educational at all, so I decided to change the pictures to some spoiled fruits - this seems more educational. My first puzzle is about good microorganisms, my second puzzle is about bad microorganisms, and my third puzzle has pictures of spoiled fruits. Because I edited my third puzzle though, I can still see the old answers - I hope we won't have a problem, Houston. xD Considering that March starts tomorrow (and the event too), I was hoping we would eventually talk today. :P

Well mine won't be ready today, but I'll try to get as much done as I can in the next 2 hours before leaving for university.

Thanks! I'm done with the ideas. I'm going to use 3 types of puzzles and 2 quizzes. The 3 puzzles are almost ready, but I still need to make the 10 questions from the 2 quizzes.

25 Platinum and 23 Gold Winners!!!
Click HERE to see the event champions!
This event is ended. If you want to provide solutions to your puzzle then post them in main thread.
Note to puzzle designers: Our goal is to get everyone through the event and try to avoid frustration. We want to see a lot of platinum and GOLD winners. Thus, have fun dropping clever hints in your GA thread and helping users that are stuck. We are all in a learning process-- we want our puzzles to be FUN, EDUCATIONAL, ENJOYABLE and promote COMRADESHIP.
com·rade·ship
ˈkämˌradˌSHip,ˈkämrədˌSHip
noun
the company and friendship of others with common aims.
"his greatest joy came from comradeship with others in the team"
Note: To solve the passcode puzzles use a copy of THIS PERIODIC TABLE. When it says Number focus on atomic numbers of elements. When it says Weight focus on atomic weight which is usually three digits after the decimal. If it says two elements added together to get a new element then add the two elements atomic numbers and get a new number--then find what is the element that has the added result. You will also need to goggle for common and scientific names of plants and animals. The first part of the passcode hint shows the format and special characters to use. (no passcodes have spaces)
Note: If you can't access the opening GA to the puzzle as you are BL then go to the ITH directly-- you will still get rewards for some GAs under each puzzle solved. (More explanation HERE if you can't see GA with puzzle because of BL.)
GO FOR THE GOLD!! (All puzzles in full event solved)
GO FOR THE PLATINUM!! (excludes Special Interest category)
