I purchased the steam key for Magicka: Collection at Green Man because it was on sale.
A little cheaper than it was on sale for in the Steam store a couple days earlier.

But when I got the email for Green Man I noticed it did not list all the DLCs. I checked the Green Man site and they say only 8 items included, not 22 items. So I immediately contacted Green Man and asked if I am missing something, that their site does not list all of what is suppose to be included in the "Collection". Jacob responded with, go buy the one from Steam. So I asked for a refund.
Got no response in 3 days so I created another ticket.

I explained that their Magicka: Collection is named the same as the official Magicka:Collection but does not include all the DLCs which is misleading and causes confusion . Since I already own Magicka and only want the DLCs and did not use the key, please refund me.

A response from Holly was "I am sorry to hear that you want a refund on this product but unfortunately I am unable to give you a refund…". Contacted a couple more times, but it's like talking to an automated phone service. Really bad service.

So I would not trust this company, you may not get what you want and they will not help you.

i bought many times on GMG and my only complain is the stupid conversion rate 1 dollar+= 1 euro...as ons team, but this is the only cons i have with them

the dollar = pound would be a valid complaint if most places didnt do it, im afraid GMG are following the herd on that one, could be worse though i feel for the antipodean gamers they get properly hosed on steam prices

It was said before, but really the fault is completely on your end. The product description clearly states the contents. If you don't read that it's your own fault. Learn from your mistake the hard way. They would give you a refund if it would be possibly to do so, but it's not really possible for them to make sure the key you received isn't going to be activated by you or someone else in the future. And I can't think of even one reason why GMG should in the end pay for YOUR mistake.

If you call one of the best supports for game selling sites "bad" because they refused to fix YOUR mistake then I hope one day you will need help of Steam support. Then you will learn what it means to experience "bad" support and getting copied messages in response.

I didnt see anything wrong with what they've done. They delivered what they are advertising. You should read what you're getting more carefully next time.

tl;dr? Well that would be your fault, not theirs. You should have read the description. It is a collection. That doesn't mean that it has to be the same as the one that Steam sells.

So has the OP requested this thread to be deleted yet since he's coming off as a complete moron and I haven't found one person to agree with him yet?

Man, this thread is hilarious...and even more hilarious because even after many people called him out on his own blunder, he still replied and tried to blame GMG.

Yeah, it's really hilarious how many people will defend shitty (and possibly illegal) business practices even when they stand to gain absolutely nothing from it. Real fucking funny what a pathetic mob of brainwashed consumer zombies you all are. Now if you'll excuse I think I need to go set a wal-mart on fire.

There was one who agreed with OP but never mind. I bet OP will be drinking while complaining how all those "butt hurt" people don't understand his awful situation and all those "illegal" actions conducted by the "wicked" GMG

Ive never had anything but great service from them. I have bought things before from them and it was for uplay or something and i would rather have steam but its my fault for not paying closer attention to the information right in front of me.

try contacting the magica devs. (they are the ones that rename all the collection the same)

sorry to here you had a problem with gmg but it is a steam key and if you use it how can you return it for a refund? gmg is a great site and does try to solve problems.

edit: didn't see he charged back the payment.

Overlooking something is one thing. Not admitting ones own mistakes, badmouthing them and even contacting the bank so he gets his money back (it's called fraud in this case) is totally not acceptable.

didn't see he was charging back payment but i'm sure the $4 he spent will keep him warm when green gmg block him all the great xman sales.

yeah OP should shut this thread down or a mod should it's all downhill from here.

  1. Admission of illegal activity. . .

  2. Slandering a company for one's own fault.

  3. Flaming thread.

I am sorry, but you made mistake and they really have no easy way how to refund you. Even if you return the key, you can use it after refunding. If it is Valve product, there should be way, because they should ask Valve to disable this key before refund. But in this case they have to ask publisher (Paradox) to do it. And if Paradox is sending just huge list of keys for validation I can't imagine how complicate process it should be. And still it was happened only because you didn't check description of product you was going to buy.

I contacted GMG support three times and each time they was able to solve my problem. So no, they have good services, but bad customers.

You are doing it wrong. It's not their fault, it's yours.

I did the same mistake as you did twice, in about 3 weeks, bought 2 uplay games along with a few steam ones without checking the platforms first.

And last week, i bought TWD season two on GMG, thinking it was steam, but it isn't. So guess what, i thought the samething about getting a refund, but then i was like "nah, it's my fault for not properly reading the description before buying a product", again, not their fault, it's the buyers fault for not paying attention to things.

I haven't had any trouble with their digital titles but when I pre-ordered Black Ops 2 for the ps3 from them last year I never received it, and I had to call them for more than a week to finally get a refund

While their deal can often be quite good and their system user friendly, every time I've had to deal with GMG's customer support, it's been a chore. Not because of their products, but because their customer service personal have been massive dicks.

They always have been good to me. I've bought way too many games there and never had a problem purchasing or activating. One time I bought the Total War Master Collection or whatever it's called. The one with everything. They had a DLC listed that didn't come with it. They sent me a key for the DLC. In that case, they listed something they didn't deliver and fixed it quick and easy. In your case, sounds like you didn't read the product description and are angry at your own mistake. No need to flame a quality store for you not taking the time to read. Magicka has been called a "collection" a number of times as I recall, updating it from time to time to include more of the DLC.

Furthermore, I'm sure you the GMG collection cheaper than the Steam collection because it had less content and you probably had the 20% voucher on top of the sale price. So just use the difference to buy the other DLCs if that stuff matters to you. A lot of it doesn't seem all that important.
