Whenever I start up my computer and sign into any user account, Something always pops up saying "Windows 86 has stopped working" I have tried searching up this problem and I could not find what was wrong. I don't see any difference from before this started happening and now after. I am still concerned though. Has anyone ever encountered this problem?

Is that the exact message? When the error comes up does it give you the option to see more information(usually a little arrow in the pop-up window)?

No, It says "Do you want to check online for any solutions?"

Does this happen only in your web browser, or does it happen when you open your Steam client as well?

No, It happens every time I log into a user account through Windows. It pops up once I reach my desktop. It says "Windows86 is not responding" and after that it says "Windows86 has stopped working. Do you want to check online for any solutions?"

Well, the 86 probably means it is a 32 bit system.

Can you continue to use windows even after the error message pops up, or does it crash/freeze?

1 - Scan for viruses (if you can't get into windows see if you can boot it in safe mode)
2 - Perform a system restore to before the problem occurred (you should be able to perform a restore from system recovery if you can't boot windows)
3 - Boot to recovery and use the windows repair utility
4 - Reinstall operating system

x86 = 32-bit system, although you all probably know that already.

Can you give us your computer's specs? OS, Graphics Card, Processor, Hard-Drive etc?

Okay first of all I am running Windows 7 64 Bit.
@JoeyBeanz Yes, I can continue to use windows. I have scanned for viruses and nothing came up. I am going to reset my computer to factory settings and see if I still get it.

Does it happen when you boot into safe mode?

Try running this command in command prompt (run w/ admin)

sfc /scannow

So, what you're saying is, the system performs normal only it gives that message on user login?

x86 is an architecture. It came since 16 bit (x86-16).
Windows x64 is x86_64 which is still x86.

So why do some people refer to 32 bit executables as x86? Is that just a misnomer?

Intel used to name their chips in numbers from 8086, 8088, 80186, 80286 which are all 16bit. Then they go 32 since 80386 and which are referred as 80x86 (there're various Intel chips and non intel cpu). Then Intel decided to drop 80 so it's 486. People then call it x86.
Intel found that they can't TM the number so they named the would-be 586, Pentium. Since then x86 processors run the same 32 bit instruction set (and are all compatible to each other). So x86 has become a de-facto name for that set.

Then Intel went 64 bit first and call it IA64 (Itanium). Also renamed x86 to IA32. But IA64 was not compatible with x86 so everyone ignored it.
Then AMD make a 64 bits CPU that is x86 compatible and they called it the "x86-64" family (AMD64), and is hugely successful that Intel ended up following with their own 64 bits CPU based on x86.
Later, because people are lazy, the x86-64 because known simply as the x64.

In other words, it's more marketing than technology for the reason.
Note: There are non x86 32-bit processors too which is another reason.

Can you make a "readable" video of this or something. According to Google, and Yahoo you are the only internet using person on planet Earth to have typed that phrase online.

It sounds like my spyware has stopped working, please reinstall it for me.

Seriously though, that sounds like a virus or other malware, so assuming your antivirus software is reputable and capable (you don't mention what you use) it's possible that it has been deliberately broken by the virus to hide itself. I'd suggest getting hold of one of those free virus removal tools using another machine and booting into safe mode to use it.

It could just turn out to be a startup entry for a program you uninstalled, but better to be safe than sorry and assume malware.
