Best way to give keys is through steam chat IMO, for obvious reasons.

I just email and forget about it. Check in a couple days to make sure it's received.

I've got my email and Steam up constantly, so I do find it tedious, especially with my busy lifestyle, when people don't just instantly respond (especially if it says they were online 10 minutes ago or if they're actually online). Nonetheless, patience is the best tool here.

I leave Steam and my email client running all of the time. It doesn't mean that I don't have a life and can spend all day sitting in front of my computer. Some people work for a living and have families that they like to be with. Some even have physical friends and not just digital entities who may or may not be real.

They have 7 days to respond. Patience is a virtue.
