What kind of winner are you?
I have decided I need to tone down the Steam Gifts
I'm still going to be around the forums. Maybe not as much as I used to, but still enough for you to get annoyed at me since I'm on Steam Gifts almost all the time. :)
That's the begging... :(

I'm grinding away at my backlog a lot these days. And the fact that I didn't win anything in the past two weeks at least makes it easier.

I'm having loads of fun playing the games I won from Steamgifts. I'm very happy about finally having more spare time over the holidays, and during 2016 I'll have more spare time than 2015, so more time for games! So many great games to play, really looking forward to all of them!
As of yet, I'm a "meh" winner. I've completed nine of my wins, and I'm playing a few more of them that I'll be done with soon, so a week and a half in to January (when my holiday ends) I'll have about 30% of my wins completed, and around 45% played. More to be completed as the weeks pass by :)
I don't farm for cards. I get my cards from playing the game, and since I will play all my wins, I'll get the cards sooner or later. I'm not in a hurry. So in my case, all started games = played for real.
That's a very nice list of giveaways, but I already have the ones I was interested in. Still, thanks for sharing, and happy new year :)

I'm playing the bundle ones too! Right now I'm playing Gemcraft, Shadow Warrior and Meltdown. All three are great fun. Just 100%ed Meltdown. Waiting for a proper internet connection (and my main computer with enough HDD space too) when I get back from the holidays before I can download and start playing the latest wins. Enough time to finish up the ones I'm playing now. But yes, I agree, I had some very good luck lately with those cheap bundle games :)
I see that you too have won some cheap bundle games the latest two months :)
Edit: I thought you were referring to my wins as the cheap giveaways ;)

Maybe cheap, but still some gems in there (see what I did there? :D). As an example, Life is Strange had the #1 spot on my wishlist for a long time before I recently got it. Sure, it's only episode one, and it's bundled in the $1 tier now, but still . Good stuff.

Yup, you're right :P
The Tomb Raiders were all on my wishlist too.
But now that I own them, I will probably not play them.
It's a bad habit of mine. :P
Edit: You sound like Student. :P
Yes, I am quite thankful for my recent wins - to a point where I've become overtaken with guilt.

I sound like Student? :D He must have educated me subconsciously. The Student has become the master...
Don't feel guilty! You seem like someone who appreciates playing a good game you got as a gift from a user here. I bet you will play all those games in 2016 and enjoy every minute of it. Look forward to it :)

Lots of time to think of what game to play next ;) I can recommend Fallout 4. Great game (maybe not the perfect Fallout game for someone who has played all the previous games, but still an excellent game), I have almost 80 hours in it so far, and starting to see how the end of the main story is getting closer. Still probably at least 20 hours left before I finish my first main story playthrough, so lots of stuff to enjoy in it.
I would probably enjoy Fallout 4 just as much if I played it in 10 years, but it's strange how it seems like the perceived greatness of a game varies so much with time (for many but not all people). In 2026 people will probably go "meh" over the Humble Bethesda Bundle 4 with "Bethesda Fallout Classic collection" (Fallout 3, NV, 4 and 5) in the $1 tier ;)

Haha, totally agree. :)
I find it hilarious that I can go out and eat a 20 dollar meal but I'm crying over whether to get the $1 tier or the $5 tier. Eventually, I found out that whatever I buy for myself ends up not getting played, so I fixed that by not buying myself stuff. :P
Though, on the flip side, the bundle money does add up.
Damn you bundles!

You're stealing my ideas :) I wish I was more organized. I didn't count them yet, but I feel it like there should be almost the same percentages as with your stats.

In my earlier day I won the 2nd game here and instantly got into it. Now I've completed the whole achievements of it and displayed it as my favorite game on the steam profile. Maybe I was lucky as my personal experience on SG. And you could be lucky here as well since you know enough about the site and people and games.
Thanks for the GAs~

Thanks a lot for all those giveaways!
And if it comes to such statistics... Yeah, I promised myself to play all those won games but I didn't manage to do so :/ One day, one day... Recently I am not even able to force myself to get up from bed, not even mentioning playing any game so yeah, it's difficult... I'm trying though... Yet, I am grateful and since my life is pretty sad and winning those games makes me at least a little happier - I'm still doing it. There aren't many things that make me happy in my life :/
Yet, I find it sad that Steam doesn't record playtime even for my own calculations that I've played some game in offline mode. That happens for me sometimes as I play games without access to the Internet and even beaten few with that. Sadly, Steam never registered that...

ted in myself.
Disclaimer: This is meant to be a "just for giggles" thread. It is not meant to attack anyone on Steam Gifts, nor is it meant to offend anyone. If any of the above two happen, I apologize in advance as it is not my intention. Most people will probably fall under the negative sections (because in reality, there's where everyone is at), so don't feel bad. We're all with you!
While coming up with an idea for Christmas, I have discovered that I am a
n atrociousdreadful winner.Of the 97 games that I won:
I have launched or farmed: 85
I have tried (played for a bit then gave up): 44
I have played (I actually gave it some honest effort instead of playing the first level or first section and stopping): 27
I have completed (Completed, but not 100% achievements): 17
I have 100%'d (Includes games without achievements): 13
Only 17% of games completed and 27% of games played
AtrociousDreadful. What are your stats? (If you're not too embarassed to share them, of course.)To the creators of giveaways that I have won: Don't you worry. I have every intention of completing every win. #NoGameLeftBehind.
Part of the reason I forced myself to create all these giveaways was so that I be more aware of how much people have spent on me, and how many games I haven't played yet. And of course, it was Christmas, so I decided to splurge a bit for you guys.
Here is the damage:
Total bundled CV won gifts: 659
Total non-bundled CV of won gifts: 799
Total bundled CV of holiday giveaways: 951
Total non-bundled CV of holiday giveaways: 803
Total giveaways: 173
Total spent on non-bundled giveaways: 209.17
My original budget? $100. I ended up spending way more than that. But I was commited. My wallet took a huge hit, even though I tried to be as cheap as possible by picking the cheaper (but still awesome) games.
Like a few others before me (RIP xScreamx. dkny, coezo, and a few others I can't think of off the top of my head), I have decided I need to tone down the Steam Gifts and focus more on completing the games I have won. My conscience has gotten the better of me, and lately I've been intentionally skipping on some pretty nice giveaways. I've reached a point where I feel like I don't need anymore games, because I know my backlog may never be finished (but I'm still going to keep trying).
Don't worry, I'm still going to be around the forums. Maybe not as much as I used to, but still enough for you to get annoyed at me since I'm on Steam Gifts almost all the time. :)
I strongly encourage you to also take some time and look at your wins. Remember, people spent that money on you, so please play your wins as time permits and don't let the games go to waste.
Thank you for listening. :)
Here's a bunch of recent bundles which I ended up not using for the Christmas giveaways. Nothing special. Don't get your hopes up.
All giveaways are level 4+, invite only, and end on 08 Jan 2016.
