I thought the movie was great. Sheryl Lee really got to let loose. I think a lot of people were put off by the change in tone. The TV show was quite "tv land" while the movie was a lot darker. So it was a bit jarring to see how some of the characters were in the movie. Plus some favourites were absent or recast.

In my opinion Twin Peaks is a type of show, where as soon you will start loving the characters, you will enjoy every bit of it. I guess that you just should try handing yourself over to the atmospere and story, but I get it, that not everybody has to adore it.

I really enjoyed, but didn't like the ending... the last scene, that is.
I have Deadly Premonition, didn't know it was supposed to be good, guess I will play it. Eventually xD

The main character is both the opposite and the exact same as Dale actually. He's odd as frick on all grounds, has weird-a$$ dreams, loves his coffee, talks to someone, that doesn't exist, is an FBI agent, and he even looks a little bit like Coop.
On the other hand he's kinda a douche with high ego (were Kyle was such a sweetheart, that I could cuddle him to death), but he's a die-hard movie geek, so I can forgive him that. :p
So yeah, I guess I could say that it kinda has MacLachlan. :)

Okay I need to play that game xD
Hopefully I won't have too many crashes.. from the steam reviews, it looks like a bad port?
""were Kyle was such a sweetheart, that I could cuddle him to death""
YES ME TOO xD

Twin Peaks helped me learn Turkish... at least to some degree. Unfortunately though, I unlearned most of it in the meantime. Can't remember much more than 'Kimler Laura Palmer öldürdü?'.

I still think it's one of the best series(maybe even the best) that's ever made. It still holds up even today and I love David Lynch and his movies too.
As for the new Twin Peaks episodes, I'll save my hype for now and see where it goes.

Of course the reason why the episode in which the murderer is revealed and the subsequent derailing of the series is due largely in part to network interference (http://twinpeaks.wikia.com/wiki/Twin_Peaks), you realize.

i am excited about the new Twin Peaks
as long as Mark Frost & David Lynch are staying together in making it, i think it might have a lot of potential.
especially since the original cast will be present.
i have high hopes for it.

i think we like the same sort taste in movies. i noticed you mentioned Jodorowsky. i recently saw Jodorowsky's Dune during X-mas with my extended family. my aunt & uncle had it randomly as their netflix disc to watch & both my cousin & I were pretty jazzed to see it. i remember watching David Lynch's Dune when it first came out & being so intrigued with it but damn, Jodorowsky's vision for Dune was pretty mind blowing. its too bad he never was able to make it. if you havent seen it, check it out. i know some people over look it cause its not one of his movies, & instead a documentary about the whole experience of trying to get it made. ive seen pretty much seen all of his stuff except El Topo. im curious to see how his new movie that he kickstarted turns out since its been so long since he made a movie. hes been mostly focused on comics, which im definitely not complaining about.
hit me up or add me if you're ever interested in talking about bizarre, horror, or all things peculiar. its what i love most.

As long as Lynch and McLachlan are involved, my hype will be going through the roof.

One of the best TV series imho. There are really only few better ones (Berlin Alexanderplatz, Career of Nikodem Dyzma, Das Boot and something completely different - Danger 5)

you definitely have to check out the movie. they do switch Laura Flynn Boyles character with another actress :(
but it is the beginning of the tv series before Laura's death.

Since the shots for the new Twin Peaks will start in a couple of months and a particular game, which has a lot to do with this show is now on sale, I thought that I might give you guys a little something, but also ask a few questions and maybe start a little discussion. :p
So, what were your first thoughts, when you started watching it?
Any particular favourite moments/episodes/characters?
What do you actually think about the idea of a new Twin Peaks after all those years? Will it be great? Will it turn out to be deadly for the canon?
Oh, and grab this - http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/HX3rs/deadly-premonition-the-directors-cut :p
