Unusual Findings looks really good, thanks :)

I feel like the genre is coming back a bit and that's a good thing ^^
For my part I recommend these ones that I've tried and enjoyed, maybe you'll be interested in them!

  1. Mutropolis
  2. Crowns and Pawns: Kingdom of Deceit
  3. And finally BROK the InvestiGator (a bit special because it mixes 2 old school genres)

Thanks, Crown and Pawns i have too, personally i feel the movement is a bit slow, but seemingly you have to play the game a total of 3 times to get all achievements which is a bit annoying.

Mutropolis is decent.

Not sure about BROK, as the tags also say beat em up and RPG, feel it's gonna be more that (even if it might look great for that genre). :x

The fighting phases didn't bother me because in the old way, they are not very difficult so I didn't find it unpleasant even if I admit that the mixture of the two genres is very particular :D

For the Crown and Pawns achievements i agree, kinda annoying but.. later maybe for me :)

But is Brok also point and click adventure? Looks more like a Visual Novel, hard to tell from the pictures. For 2 euro i can't go wrong.

The top in BROK is the acting and the soundtrack, the puzzles are classic for point'n click, search and association of objects but still good
The story is very nice. The choices can vary the story and lead to different ends.
In short I recommend but now if you're not sure you like it wait for a good promo but keep the name aside you have to try it ;)

Thank you, it was indeed already in op, but they made it out to be coming out in November, so thanks for informing it's already out now (and damn again out of my moving out funds jar :x).

I normally don't play demo's, but with this one i did, but it felt a bit easy, so i hope the game isn't so easy in the end?

I can confirm that this is not the hardest game I've ever played, the steps came quite naturally but the facility didn't shock me either.
And I haven't tested the demo so I can't compare.

Thank you. :) Heck even if you been an 80's kid, the references alone would be a funny thing i guess.

I must say (not because of the art style) but the easy gameplay and shortness, i was really disappointed in Return to Monkey Island (and ugh those annoying trivia cards).

I am very afraid to be disappointed by Return to Monkey Island and I did not take it for the moment for that xD

At atleast 50% discount i feel that's more worth it. :)

If you atleast care for everything (and achievements) they randomly spawn trivia cards, but there is an achievement for all of them, but how they spawn (at a bad rate) you have to replay the game several times just for that, not to mention even a speedrun (finish it under 2 hours!) achievement. :(

When I like the game I do the achievements but otherwise I don't mind not doing them when I don't like.

Depending on the cost i probably get it right away (going of from kickstarter about 12-16 euro).
You could always ask my impressions if you are interested then after a week or so.

Played the demo of this during the last NextFest, and it seems pretty solid:

If you like an Adult Only game from time to time, this is good too:

Thanks, looks nice but aparently coming from the dev itself, it's only going to be partially a point and click.

It's interesting how some people are getting so upset over this. People really don't like "their thing" tinkered with, which is funny to me because that's what nearly every beloved video game is nowadays; A Hybrid.

Having played the entire demo, I would definitely label this a point and click adventure game. A quality one too. Having said all that, I can definitely understand why people don't want survival mechanics anywhere near P&C.

Well Brok does it with RPG.

I haven't played the demo, so can't judge.

Does anyone know with january coming if there are some for that month or other release dates planned?

Well, the remake of Colossal Cave is coming out Jan 19th but I'm not sure if that qualifies for a retro point and click.

It does seem more like a Myst game, but the tags say point and click, and it's based on a retro game, so i'll take it, thanks.

Nice list of P&C games! I added some to my wishlist. I love this genre too. (Can't believe I missed this thread until now)

I have one to add if I may. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2148880/Dagdrm/
I did the playtest for it. It's difficult but very retro. Coming out 19th of May.

Spiritless looks fun. :)
Stasis a bit weird..

Thanks, added, seemed a bit of a dry spell the last 3 months, but there are still many planning to come (just with no dates yet).

And sometimes a date means nothing, but Stasis has an announcement and while Spiritless is due soon doesn't, but in the website there's an image with the release date.

Often dates got prolonged because a deadline can't be met, but spiritless also already has a timer running with x left, don't think it's there for nothing.

It does say This game plans to unlock in approximately 1 day and 18 hours, we will see.

Yeah, unfortunately seems more a sort of walk around back and forth like a darkside detective, can't add it to op as it has no release date yet. ;) But offcourse people are free to try the demo out.

Thanks added, weird as i actually bought some of those games myself and somehow i did not add them.

Some like Boxville, Creepy Tale 3, Life of Delta and Watchers of the Universe: I'm outta here! i don't really find fit the category pure poinr and click adventure or retro, but i added them.

Also cleared up the whole last year to 1 list, to make it a bit cleaner, and just focus on this years games.

Thanks, i think it got accidently deleted when i edited.

I know it's from 1997, but the point is that it came out in 2023, this thread is about what's new on steam this year (or upcoming ones) i believe they also did some remaster work on it, hence 2023.
