If you are a casual player, I don't think any of those two will fit your profile.

You're on the internet, where Skyrim is praised as the granddaddy-king of video games. What do you expect people to say? :p

Even as a casual player, you will LOVE skyrim. You can opt to go slay dragons or decide to decorate one of your many homes instead. With skyrim, there are a TON of mods that will allow you to maximize your experience (armored horses, Hi def graphics pack, player designed homes, dungeons, characters). Even if Skyrim doesn't go on sale, its worth full price for the amount of hours you can play on it.

I have beared Anno for only about 30 mins, it was one of the most awful games I have tried. I have played Skyrim for weeks and I still play it whenever I get the chance. You decide.

The gameplay never ends in Skyrim. Once you complete the vanilla game you'll be checking mods - either for fun or improvement. Yes Morrowind was a brilliant game, but compare it to Skyrim, in the sense that it was released in 2002 and people are still creating mods for it. Imagine Skyrim 10 years from now. A game you can always come back to.

Though yes the industry has changed and everything is developed far faster. So the next game might be so defining that Skyrim will be forgotten, but I doubt it.

you don't even need to finish the main story on skyrim to get over 200 hours of gameplay.

You're asking people to give recommendations for a strategy game or an rpg based solely on the fact you consider yourself a "casual" gamer. With that information alone I can't really tell you what I would do in your situation. If you told us what games you enjoy then maybe I could give you an answer.

Was gonna say Anno :(

It's a great game, and it has just as much replay value as skyrim.
