My P didn't change after my win just now, despite my entries being removed from a sizable number of giveaways, so I'm just curious if that's an intentional change to keep in mind (I can't find anything in the change log) or an actual bug. There's shouldn't be any chance that I'm mistaken about the lack of refund, either (I had just been fiddling with my points up till that point, my other open windows match my recollection of my most recent total, and the refund would have exceeded my current points regardless).

Not an issue of concern for me by any means, but I thought I'd note it in case it wasn't intentional to design.

Look, I'm not saying the size of my P matters, but I do want to know what you all think about it and that it's performing the way it should.

I'm not sure the public forum is the place to discuss your p dysfunctions.

As far as I know this never happened since they automatically removed your entries after a win.
So I think it's safe to say your P works just fine.

From cg in September last year

When your account is synced, the site will remove open giveaway entries for games which have been detected on your account. Points will be restored if any giveaway entries are removed. This way, if you buy new games or redeem bundles, you don't have to worry about searching for and manually removing your giveaway entries after syncing. As well, automatic syncing now occurs more frequently, and your account will be synced every 48 hours when you visit the site. This might be further shortened to 24 hours in the coming days.

And this one from that October. I'm not sure when entry removal on win was implemented but the same applied there as well.

Oh ok so I was mistaken, thanks for clearing this up. I never gave it much attention as I usually have 400 points to spend. But it's good to know.

This post suggest that points will be restored if a giveaway entry is removed when a game is detected on your account.
(The second sentence is actually unclear, but as it is sandwiched between two sentences that are speaking of games detected in your accounts, I surmise the "points will be restored" bit only applies when games are detected on your account).
IMO it doesn't say anything about points restored on win.

I did say I couldn't find when that specific change was implemented but it was around that time somewhere and worked in the same manor in that the site knows you now "own" that game and removes your entries, thus refunding your points. There definitely was an announcement regarding entry removal on win as I remember replying to it pointing out potential issues.

It actually doesn't work in the same manor, it's coded differently.

For example, when I win a game, I can still see giveaways for the game on the main page, but I cannot enter them.
When the game is on my account, giveaways for the game don't appear (because, like many people, I checked the "hide games you own" on the settings).

So technically, due to the way the database is handled, having won a game does not imply that you own the game.

Whether anything of this is relevant to the topic is another question :)

And there was an annoucement regarding entry removal on win, I've never said otherwise. What I don't know if, in this case, your points were refounded

OK i've found the relevant annoucement. The announcement actually says you will be refunded:

So if Sooth wasn't, it's a bug.

So this was actually quite a bit earlier than the other refund changes.

Back before the site redesign deleted giveaways restored points, then after the redesign they didn't, then after point generation/limits where changed deleted giveaways where changed back to refunding points. Regardless of what happens on a technical level being removed from ongoing giveaways is effectively the same as leaving them yourself. Leaving active giveaways has always refunded those points, deleted giveaways haven't. The confusion people have here is likely due to the back and forth changes regarding deleted giveaways.
