If you have ever travelled with "Deutsche Bahn" (Germany) you know that they are (always sometimes) late - but never when you are... XD
How come trains in other countries are are so much more reliable when it comes to schedules?
Never mind, this small train is a very late holiday train with some budeled HOGs and some Point & Clicks (I still love them).
You may enter HERE and when you leave make sure to take your belongings with you - I mean bump with a fancy sheep (gif)!
Train leaves on the 24th at 6:00 and will be on time!

In my case, late was when I missed my last bus home at the train station. But according to the article it seems that I was just unlucky. ^^

It is a nuisance missing connecting trains in Germany and being when you try to make plans. However, I think a haven't been very late recently, mostly because other trains waited a few minutes for passengers.
I also think overall the quality is good in comparison to other countries that had railroads for about a long as Germany:
https://www.bcg.com/de-de/publications/2017/transportation-travel-tourism-2017-european-railway-performance-index.aspx
For example, the USA has somehow neglected modernizing its railway network in some of the high population regions for too long. That is one of the reasons of the high number of traffic jams and regional flights. With escalating prices for land in the last one or two decades it will simply be very expensive to expand or improve the network.
There is always some room for improvement and punctuality is one of the most important one, right next to estimated travelling time.

I am quite surprised that Germany is within tier 1! ^^
Maybe you're right, and there are not as many delays as there used to be - I don't use trains regularly anymore so I cannot say for sure, but it would be nice to hear (I'm still fighting my "delay-trauma" XD)

I feel like a lot of people think their own country's train network is always late compared to the other countries, apart from people in Japan. I heard the same in France and in the UK ^^
