Stardew Valley is a lot of fun. Very relaxing

Sunless Sea is a grindy and punishing roguelite, but with a superb atmosphere and writing (a lot of writing)

SOMA, one of the few stories that kept me thinking about for months

Return of the Obra Dinn, just the best adventure game of the last 20 years or so

Second on Return of the Obra Dinn. Excellent attention to detail, and it's a game you can take at your own pace to look around and see all the minute details.

If you like futurism game (Wipeout like), Ballistic NG is a classic with a lot of content (more than 100 tracks in it)
This is a sort of Wipeout 4 for the PC

There's a thread on here that has a bunch of codes that free cards, packs and other things if you do decide to play. The game is available on it's own client or the EGS.

It's not on Steam. As I mentioned above it's on it's own client or the EGS. It's also available on MAC, Android and IOS.

hmm.. If your avatar is any indicator of your taste & you like card games/deckbuilders, Tainted Grail will definitely rock your boat !

Not OP, but how would you compare Tainted Grail to Slay the Spire/Monster Train/Griftlands?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

sure, I´d say it´s less comic, more grit. Also imo it has a much stronger RPG and Base building aspect.
It´s possible the deckbuilding is less complex/deep but there´s just much else to Tainted Grail than to Slay the Spire for example. I don´t know too much about Monster Train & Griftlands, but from what I´ve seen they seem much closer to StS than to TG.
The way I see it in Slay the Spire the Deck is the Game, while in Tainted Grail it´s a means to an end to facilitate the combat part.
Other than that you move around in a 3D world, where you build up your village/HQ through the runs.
You are not bound to this FTL style path you have to choose at the beginning of each run, instead there´s a whole world to explore, with sidequests to fulfill, NPCs to discover etc..
So imo it´s much more an immersion game to spend an evening with and sink into the world and it´s stories, while Slay the Spire to me seems more like a filler to pass an hour, hunt for chievos over time, and just do that one more run with the character you haven´t played with yet. But afaik you have no influence over the world, while in Tainted Grail your decisions, to an extent, shape the world you play in.

I had a look at your wishlist and would like to bump up Hades. It's all worth the hype - has the freshness of a good indie title mixed with a much higher budget than typically indie games have. I have only played Bayonetta a few hours in my friend's house, but it was great fun and looked really cool - movement was fluid, too. I'm pretty sure you need a controller for it, though - which is why I abstain yet. If you don't want to spend lots of monies, Plants versus Zombies is actually very fun (just on the easy side). I see you have XCom 2 in your account - did you like it? You may try XCom Enemy Unknown if you did. It's great

I will wait with Hades a little bit more I feel like it will get discounted for more pretty soon. Haven't really played XCOM 2 but I will give it some ore time.

I don't think Hades will get discounted any more soon-ish, it's 30% off the first time since like a year of being 20% off

I always recomend Subset Overdrive to everybody. Everyone says it doesen't look like something they'll enjoy, untill they play it, and it becomes one of their favourite games. Has a nice discount right now too, so no reason not to buy it!

Looks like you've played some FPS and like them, so I'd recommend checking out the classic FPS - Quake 1 & 2, Half-Life, Serious Sam First & Second Encounter, even the original Doom games!
I understand you might've played them long ago, off Steam, still - worth recommending in case you haven't
