Everything about the game is awful, more so if you've played previous C&C titles. There's barely any strategy (and that says a lot considering how strategy-less C&C usually i).

Magicka really sucks and it's a damn DLC queen.
I would take any CNC any time any day for it. Even the crappy CNC4.

CnC4 is way crappier than fun Magicka. The game is a pure failure.
And no one makes you buy Magicka's DLCs, especially since only 3 of those really add campaing stuff and the rest is for arena games.
