as all of these games are clearly steamworks titles, they will activate on steam even if you but it retail. no disk is needed to play, but steam is.

Alright. Thanks. I was just checking, since I can't buy things online, and I want to get Episode 2.
(Also, I got Portal, Half Life 2, and Episode 1 for free, so I feel I should contribute somehow.)

I bought my Orange Box copy on a retail store back in december 2007.
The Orange Box retail comes with the CD Key for you to redeem the game on Steam and some installation DVDs for installing the games instead of having to download a crapload of stuff, it isn't needed to be inserted every time you want to play a game.
About the Team Fortress 2 Premium, I don't know for sure, but apparently it does. I'd wait to see some other responses about this one though.

Well, I still like to have the physical copy of the game. And thanks!
Anyways, do you think I could gift Half Life, Episode 1, and Portal from The Orange Box since I already have them? :3

You can gift Half-Life² and Episode 1, but not Portal : https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4502-TPJL-2656

If I buy a copy for my computer in the store, it doesn't come with keys redeemable on steam, does it? Like, I would have to physically insert the disk in my computer every time I want to play a game on it, correct?
Edit: Does it also come with a premium account for TF2, also?
