Seems like a pretty good laptop to me. Slim and fast, with free games. You might want to check out the speakers if they have a display model around you, slim laptops usually have weaker speakers, even if they are made by JBL. The screen should not be that big of an issue.
I would buy this is in a heartbeat, if I need a laptop now or you can wait for Black Friday if you want. If you really want this laptop, get the i7 with 16 GB of RAM. You will need it.

Maybe wait a month for black friday for possibly cheaper prices? Assuming you're in the US since you're buying from newegg. Seems okay though

Seems OK for under $1k. I guess you already checked http://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-IdeaPad-Y50-Notebook-Review.120215.0.html
If colors or contrast - while on desktop - appear flat you could also adjust them via Intel graphics drivers. It's not making your display better, but helps a bit to be more satisfied. At least they built in a matte display. ;)

Heard about the Lenovo y50?
There is a deal on Newegg Lenovo y50,
comes with Intel Software Starter Pack at no extra cost.
A pretty decent "budget" gaming-laptop (GTX 860M, come on, try not to compare it with GTX880M with extra $500, nor to desktop graphic),
sexy red design and light/mobile.
The con is, the RGB is below average and ... 5th gen i7(power-saving) is "coming out soon"
Yay or Nay?
