I'll blame my grumpiness on being tired then. Sorry.

I just really dislike FIRST! idiots. Makes me miss a site where the admin would hunt down those comments and set it to always display those at the end. :P

It is not my standard M.O., just an opportunistic joke.
Although I agree that there does not seem to be much of a point to life, but I am still investigating...

jrpgs are no good

Comment has been collapsed.

Let me disagree. J-RPGs are an awesome style that gives us amazing stories.
I much prefer them to the "generic FPS nº324236423".

Edgy teenage protagonist fights ancient evil? That is just as unoriginal as FPS games. I play games for the game play not the story, and turn-based is over-done and boring. Maybe if there were more jrpgs like phantasy star online I would like the genre more.

There's fairly more stories than that stereotype. Sure, almost every single one of them have a group of people fighting evil... but I think that's like a lot of videogame styles. We need an enemy.
I can admit though, the gameplay to most games could use a re-work though. I personally enjoy it.
Still, ditching a whole genre is, IMO, stupid.

I'm not ditching a whole genre, but after playing golden sun, PSO, and the first 5 final fantasys, it doesn't seem like there is anything newer that is better than those games. Xenoblade chronicles was the newest jrpg that I enjoyed.

I'd recommend checking Persona 3&4 and The World Ends With You(This one isn't turn-based) then.

And just because it doesn't seem like it, it doesn't mean it cannot be has good as it.

I tried persona and found it to be complete trash. I would say persona is a prime example of generic jrpg. The only reason people like it so much is the anime-like characters and story.

I personally enjoy it for the design style of the creatures, be it Personas or the Shadows. The characters too, not so much the design, but the diversity and the connection each one has with their Persona or Tarot Card.
I also enjoyed the gameplay of the day parts. But yeah, it's basically the story it's key point. Honestly, story is an important part for me in games too. Which is why Silent Hill 2 is my fav game.

You haven't even played this one. You are helping one evil that is currently possessing you destroy other evils so he doesn't have any competition.

And that is the good side of the story. My actions in the evil side had even him horrified after a while.

Reminds me I still have a copy of that lying around to give to a friend. Already gave him Suikoden 2. He seems to like the games more than I did at least. Beats letting them collect dust.

It's over-rated. The shooting is slow and uninspired. Graphics are just like any other xbox game. The art direction is lazy. The community is made up of people with low I.Q.s and children. It takes no skill. DLC. They also make the same Cod game every year.

Comment has been collapsed.

xDxDxDxD first of all, you made me laugh with that xbox thing, basically any game looks same on xbox, on PC its modable so its not so shallow as you might think, also id say that most of the community is playing promod, which involves team communication(TS3/Skype) and teamplay, on xbox i guess there are 10yo kids who doesnt even know english.....and this cod was first in modern military and also it redefined genre. did i forgot something fellas?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Redefined the genre? Do you even Quake, Counter-strike, or unreal tournament? CoD first in modern military? What about Rainbow 6 or Ghost recon? CoD takes the fps genre and slows it down and dumbs it down enough that any idiot can play it. That's why its so popular, any one can just sit and wait for someone to run by and kill them because they were ironsighted before the other person. CoD has a low skill ceiling and is a low skill game in general. "Promod" is a complete joke, top players wish they were as good as cs 1.6 or quake live players are.

well, i guess we have nothing to talk about because you are just a blind hater. and also i thought that thing about redefining genre was a generally known thing, maybe im that stupid but i dont see as many CSlike or stealth/tactic games as modern military shooters (it has nothing to do with personal preferences, just that whats trendy....but again, probably i was living in a cave)

Just a blind hater? I gave you specific reasons and I have played cod 4. As far as modern military shooters go do you really think cod is more realistic than cs?
