Could anyone explain why Football manager 2016 has so many players?

Only got 1.3k reviews, 560k owners but it's got 77k people ingame right now, it's the third most played game on Steam, I'm confused.

My fav is still FM11. I've played FM14 and I have missed some options they deleted in the latter version. But the game is pretty great strategy game. There are so many things you have to think about while managing the club it makes the game very complex and addictive. And if you're a football fan you're lost forever.
