So it has been 5 months since i created the last Puzzle of this kind. I got a lot of positive Feedback that day(s) so i decided to give it another shot :)
Whats to win? 6 HOG of the "Grim Legends" and "Nightmares from the Deep" Series + Left in the Dark.

And since im a nice guy (again) i prepared yet another example for you (see attached picture):

  • each symbol represents a number ranging from 0 to 9. But "0" is never represented as a single-digit-number.
  • the same symbols are always the same number (in the current Question, but may vary from Question to Question)
  • 2 consecutive symbols = 2-digit-number.
  • each row must be a valid equation
  • each column must be a valid equation
  • the answer i’m looking for ist the number which is represented by the red star. In the case of the example „1" would be the correct answer.

Follow me to the Questions!

Here is even a How To?

  • every equation ((I marked all 6 of them for you)) describes a restriction to the possible solutions.
  • taking in account two or more restrictions let you draw a conclusion about the first number(s).
  • with these first number(s) more and more other restrictions and numbers become clear
  • the system „collapses“ and you have found every number.
    Or in Short:
  • Use logic. They are solveable by just thinking a little about it and ruling combinations out. ;)
  • Having knowledge of solving systems of linear equations may help a lot – but is completly optional and just the „mathematical“ approach to solve this shit. Haven’t used them either^^

In question 1, is only the 2nd sign of 1st number divided by upward triangle?

No, please divide the 2-digit number.
e.g. when square would be =1 and hexagon=2 then it would be 12 devided by triangle.

Yeah, already got a contradiction by trying to do this with only a 2nd digit. :/

Bump for solved. Really good puzzles! They look overwhelming at first, but then you find the key and it all falls into place. Very satisfying. :)

Thanks for the puzzle. Though I can't see how systems of linear equations would help in this kind of question. Any thoughts?

Wish these worked with bigger numbers, not so easy to forcebreak then.
Solved the first one in Wordpad, it's a very nice puzzle :)

Well they shouldn't get too hard - since i actuially want a good amount of people to be able to solve them ;)

Thanks for the puzzles. For one of them you do not need to fully solve it to get the answer

It is a good puzzle. Finally get to use some of the math (and logic) learnt in school
